I have sighted in my CZ 527 in .223 with a Leupold VX-R scope.
First we sighted in at 40 yards. Since I want a 200 yard zero it should be dead on at around 40.
We slowly walked it in with 8 shots using PMC .223 55 grain.
Then we had fun shooting that for a while. Then we decided to try all the different ammo I had brought with me.
PMC .223 55 grain
Hornady Superformance Varmint 35 grain
Hornady Superformance Target 75 grain
PMC X-TAC 62 grain 5.56 NATO
Blackhills Match 69 grain
With me, my Dad, Brother, Uncle and first Cousin we all took turns shooting. Everything shot at least an inch. We didn't clean it during the entire 48 rounds.
Here are some photos of a few targets.
We mounted the scope, no bore sighting, just slowly walking it in there.

Ignore the high shot, we had been shooting at 100 yards to make a smiley face with 55 grain, then we switched ammo and I shot at the "7".

Good shooting! Rifle handles those 75 grain bullets well.

Nice shooting with that Varmint.

Well done. Now you know you can do it!

We loaded up some 55 grain Hornady A-MAX.
This is a 3 shot group at 100 yards using sand bags off the hood of the truck.

Well, it was an aggravation that the gun shop ruined the screws, but now I have mounted my own scope, free floated my own barrel, loaded some rounds, all with the help of my brother.
I won't be nearly as timid now. So, in the end I guess I am glad the way it went down.
