Title: Finally I'm a CZ owner (Cajun GW P-07 Urban Grey Content)
Post by: wisemenofgotham on July 13, 2016, 10:13:02 AM
UPDATE: Cajun Gun Works Pro-Grade Kit, Short Reset and polished

(http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee11/indianboyz2000/firearms/IMG_20170310_1358472_zpspnfssaug.jpg~original) (http://s230.photobucket.com/user/indianboyz2000/media/firearms/IMG_20170310_1358472_zpspnfssaug.jpg.html)

I have been lusting after this for sometime after it was released.  A few months ago, I randomly decided to check out CZ's local dealers and called one that was not too far from me. It so happened that they had one in stock and I immediately got cash and drove over there.  With the flat magazine baseplate, the dimensions are roughly the same as my Sig Sauer P320c. I am really impressed so far with this firearm, especially for all the features you get for the price. I took it home, cleaned it and put 200 rounds through it of 147g Speer Lawman and some 147g +P Federal HST. Not a single hiccup. I think I've found another firearm to add to my carry rotation, pending my thoughts after 1,000 rounds.

Since I like modding, I'm interested in getting some trigger work done after shooting some rounds through it.  A friend recommended Automatic Accuracy, which would yield a 7.5lb DA and 3.5lb SA trigger with polished internals and their short reset kit (eliminating lots of the pre-travel, according to them).  However, I'm open to suggestions from the members on this board.

Introducing my new CZ P-07 Urban Grey Suppressor-Ready (CZ 91288) firearm:

Inforce APL:

Be sure to check out Cajun Gun Works and CZ Custom for the trigger work also. I have had extensive dealings with David @ CGW and his work is top notch and his commitment to customer service is superb.

If you are reasonably handy and comfortable with the concept you could also upgrade the internals yourself with CGW parts. I am not particularly handy but was able to do this on my UG P-07 without much difficulty :)

All three shops can help you out, all good people.  If you decide to install some parts yourself, here is a link to some videos I put together on the P-07/09 pistols.

I shot a P-09 in bullseye matches in 2014 and shot my P-07 (with a red dot) in the last local monthly bullseye match.  And I had high score with it.

Any pics of your optic monted on your P-07?  I have a Trijicon RMR on my Sig P320c, thinking about adding one or the Deltapoint Pro to my P-07.

Great looking pistol.  I recently purchased a CZ P-07 FDE and LOVE IT!!!  I've been looking at the Urban Grey but talked myself out of buying another handgun.....that is until I saw this post which made me fall off the wagon.  Of course I couldn't find any in stock but today, lo and behold, I ran across a dealer who had 20 of them.

I just ordered one and it should be here next week!!!  I paid a little too much but didn't mind because I wanted it NOW (that's normally how my purchases go).

I don't plan on any modifications, it will be my range and house gun.  I thought about a second P07 FDE (I REALLY LOVE THAT GUN) but decided to try to get something a little different, yet the same, and the UG fit the bill.  I have rimfire supressors for my pistols and rifles and they are soooooooooo fun to shoot.  So maybe a 9mm suppressor will be in my future (although now it will take FOREVER for ATF approval!!!).

Sounds like you have some fun plans for modifying/upgrading your UG so I'll keep an eye on your posts.  Thanks for the pictures.

DEGUNS.NET

$499.99 and $30 shipping, no cc fee if that matters.  They had 20 and now down to 16.

My First time buying from them but I called them a couple of times with some questions and they were very nice.

A little high unless ya want one  NOW.  Since I bought one, everyone should be getting theirs in stock at lower prices :D

Yep, slightly high on the price but not as bad as some I've seen :)

They have a coupon code for free shipping over $500 "Ship30".  But it's not letting me use it, kinda sucks since it's only a penny under

Yep, they did that on purpose....I called and he said free shipping of $500 or more and that the CZ UG didn't qualify.  Didn't make me happy either but I wanted the gun because the only other one I found was $539 plus Texas sales tax and shipping.  Kentucky Gun showed their price to be $466 but that was with 1 magazine, not 2 (and they are out).   I was tired of trying to find the cheapest one after figuring all the various costs.

Well that's serious BS... I can't believe they're gonna charge $30 for shipping for being a penny short.  It's things like that, that will make me not shop there.  But I get what you're saying, I too have overpaid a little just to get it now.  Nothin wrong with that!  Let us know how she looks when you get it.
Title: Re: Finally I'm a CZ owner (P-07 Urban Grey Content)

If shipping is free for over $500 where would you stop the line?  They have a "bottom line" is what it all boils down to.   What if it was 495?  Maybe that would make the consumer feel better, knowing they won't get free shipping?  Or they could have priced it for $539 (like the dealer in Texas) and offered free shipping.  One way or the other, they want a specific price.  If I was local I would have saved the $30 because they do have a storefront....so keeping the price low (499.99 versus something like $539) benefits their local sales.

So it's OK, like I said, the dealer in Texas wouldn't budge and so his gun would have cost me around $608 so I'm good.  I'll post a picture and a range report in a week or so.  Can't wait to get it.

Awesome to see one that has been stippled. I will be sending mine off eventually.

I had my MP9 done by Chris Damato and it's awesome.

The new guys are cutting in the straight lines and getting artsy with the stippling. Only problem is sending all three back straps to get done.

HA HA HA HA....just as I predicted in my previous post, there are now a bunch of these for sale on GunBroker.  Some are way over priced but others are on penny auction with reasonable shipping.  I can't say what those will end up selling for of course but probably at a good price.  There's one for $482 & $20 shipping so that's $28 less than I paid.  But I picked mine up TODAY and will shoot it this weekend so it's all OK.  I'll start another thread on my UG next week.   :)

Glad you got the free shipping, they wouldn't give it to me....maybe they had too many complaints about it since the gun was just 1 penny shy of being eligible for free shipping.  I just sent them an email inquiring as to why I didn't get free shipping like another customer did and asked for a $30 refund.  Guess I'll see what they say, doesn't hurt to ask....all they can say is "no".    ;D

Just an update concerning DE guns.  The first person I talked to said the gun had to be $500 or greater which is why I didn't qualify for free shipping.  After I emailed them I received a reply that the coupon was actually for a "purchase" of $500 or over and I could have added any item in order to get the free shipping.  They were very helpful and we got it all worked out, it was just miscommunication but they rectified the issue so all's good......

Wanted to provide the update to be fair to DE guns  ;D

I like it much better than the Surefire XC1 that I carried in the past because of the ease of use with the APL's controls.  It's also a slim light so the holsters are not much larger at all.  A 400-500 lumen APL running on one battery would be awesome.  Until that happens, I also carry a Surefire X300U-B from time to time.

Inforce will hopefully step up their game at SHOT show this year... they definitely need to bring more lumens ;-) I carried for a year with an APL and ended up switching to the X300U-B after a low light class. If I could mount a P3X Fury on there and still carry it that is probably what I would do:

TBH I also struggled with the APL when doing weapon manipulations - I would sometimes turn the light on or off by mistake. Otherwise, I really did like the APL - very lightweight, small and intuitive to use.

:-D

Did you keep the P320C or are you moving the RM06 over from that to the P-07? I just picked up a P320RX and am planning to use it when I teach private lessons - I felt a striker-fired gun would be a better starting point for new shooters and, at the price, the RX saved me about $500 over milling a P320 and adding an RMR. I've only had it to the range once but it shoots well!

Now, though... I am coming down with the fever for a P-09 with an RMR ;-)

Yes, RM06 on everything haha.  Sold my P320c, made the change to all DA/SA for my firearms now.  In the future, I may add a P10 Suppressor Ready Full Size if they make one, for a range toy.

When Mark Housel (of L&M Precision Gunworks) milled my slide for an RMR, he cut a new rear dovetail and installed custom spec, suppressor-height Dawson sights. I had him mill the front sight and drill it to accept 1mm fiber...

^^^ damn I like those. Is the rear sight all black or does it have FO as well?

My urban grey P09 is nice but I find the rear sights to be distracting. I also prefer shooting with a FO front.

All black. I find dots distracting too. :)

Next time (when I send him a P-09) I may forego the fiber front.

Have to admit , I am a diehard 1911 guy , this is my first 9mm semi-auto ( I do have a S&W Perf Centr 929 wheelgun) , and my first non steel framed handgun. Just got it a few days before Christmas and only 300 rounds thru it so far , but I am impressed !

Finally, the upcoming APL 3.0 400 lumen weapon light and APL Compact 200 lumen weapon light!  I really hope the Gen 3.0 fits in my current holster, looks like it should.

Did you buy it with the parts already installed? If not, how much and what was the turn around time?

No, I sent them my factory P07 UG and Cajun Gun Works received it on January 4th, 2017.  I got it back from them today, March 10th.  Just put 100 rounds through it, zero issues at all.  It really makes a great firearm that much better, highly recommended!  All the pricing and contact information is on their website.
