Title: 75b SA upgrade questions
Post by: SnowyCZ on January 10, 2017, 09:38:08 PM
I would like to do a reach reduction and possible short reset. Will these work in the SA model? I also want to do a Cajun hammer, but am not sure which particular hammer to get. I have toyed with going to DA/SA but I am not sure about that yet. Also, is there a different safety I can swap out for these monster ambis's?
So.,    Will Reach Reductionkit and Short reset kit positively affect the SA model?

Is there an alternative to the huge ambi safeties on the SA model?

When I upgrade to a Cajun hammer, should I go DA and if so, should I do it at the same time
           as the SRS and RRK?
 Thanks!

To reduce travel on your SAO, you just need to get a trigger with both a pre-travel screw and an over travel screw. From CGW, that would be either #5SAO(oem style) or #6SAO(flat). The CGW DA/SA hammers will work fine in your gun and you could add a few parts later if you decide you want DA/SA. You'll also need a floating trigger pin(TR-PIN) and a reduced power trigger return spring(RP-TRS if you want). Some people like the oem return spring for a crisper reset. On the guns I've done, the rp-trs is worth about a 1/2lb reduction in pull weight. Either way, buy an extra return spring. SRS and RRK are for DA/SA guns. This will be a massive improvement over the original. I think there is a set of safety levers for sale in the classifieds.

Never mind on the safety levers, they're just like yours.

This is exactly what I needed to know. Thank you for taking the time to list the actual part #'s!

I looked at those earlier actually.

You can buy the regular ambi-safety levers from CZ USA, but I'd check with CGW since you'll already be paying shipping. You could also post in the classifieds, somebody may want to trade standard levers for yours.

Glad to help out. I forgot to mention, you'll need a starter punch to remove the oem trigger pin. CGW sells those too if you don't have one already.

I wonder if these will work? I like the ambi safeties, just not the enormity of the factory ones on the SA as I like to get as high a grip as possible.

Yes those should work with your gun.
