Title: CGW vs Cz CS
Post by: Czvlad on February 06, 2017, 10:03:46 AM
I have never dealt with CZ custom shop.  I had CGW build a sp01 tactical for me and Dave did amazing job. Regrettably he does not have what I need in Stock but CZ does. How is there quality of work compare to CGW . Thank you for any input

You could never go wrong either way. They both provide exceptional work that would be hard to get anywhere else. Go for it you won't be sorry.

I've never had work done by either shop, but I've used a ton of parts from both places.  You won't go wrong either way, but there are some items I prefer from each shop.

I've had excellent experiences with both companies. Stuart is awesome to work with and the quality of their work is top notch. I wouldn't hesitate to have work done at CZC or CGW.

If I had a great big pile of money sitting around, I'd love to buy two identical pistols and send one to CZC and the other to CGW.

This Is A Really Easy Call...

CZ Custom
Pros:
Talked to Robert & he answered every question I had to include all kinds of rookie CZ stuff (which I was) Very Patient Man !!!
I told him to match the grips, (Roberts Choice) with the 75B - Nailed it
Delivered a Product 2 weeks ahead of schedule
Delivered right in my hand the best shooting handgun I had ever shot

Cons:
He didn't immediately stop what he was doing and drive it over to my house

Cajun GW
Pros:
Talked to David & everything needed was answered without trying to get me off the phone (we even talked some football)
I told him to match the grips, (David's Choice) with the P01 - Nailed it
Delivered the goods on time, even a couple days early
Delivered right in my hand the best shooting handgun I had ever shot (again)

Cons:
He didn't immediately stop what he was doing and drive it over to my house

CGW vs Cz  CS
So You See My Friend, The Answer Is Simple

ONE OF EACH!!! And that's just for starters...

So . Now I have and shoot both. 1 cgw tactical sp01, 2 czc shadow sp01. As far as shooting both great , accurate, guns.
Cgw just when  the slide moves, it's smooth , everything is truly polished. The trigger is gritty but it is lighter on the shadow but it should be. The safety is ridiculously tight need support hand to bring the safety up.   the trigger is heavier but  smoother on the tactical.  If I could describe the shadow.  It's a high quality production gun. But still  factory assembled.
This shadow after I shoot idpa indoor nationals is going to CGW for the personal tuch. I am sure that Dave can do a better polishing and smoother trigger job.

Direct response

Both will work in. oil the sear/hammer.

Both will break in.

That is way you want the safety to start.

I have heard good things about both places but never used any of their parts. I just got my first CZ last week. I had a hard time getting a hold of CZC to ask questions and availability of firearms and parts but my friend got ahold of them easily the same days I tried.

A friend of mine told me about  automatic accuracy. Does anyone have any experience with them?

Call CGW......If you keep call'in CZ Custom, Stewart will never get my Pro Tek 1 finished. LOL
Seriously....not sure how you could go wrong with either one. My Sp-01 Shadow from the CZ Custom Shop is one of the most accurate pistols I have ever shot. Not that I am that good a shot, but it is just about perfect for me. Never had any work from Cajun Gun Works but I have never seem a bad word about them....that's saying something on todays Internet.

When does a couple of months feel like a year? When you are waiting for a Pro Tek 1 from the Custom shop. LOL

Pretty much. I don't think they manufacture parts though. They use mostly CZC parts AFAIK.
