Title: Purchasing a CZ that has been Cajunized
Post by: Harwell2610 on March 29, 2017, 04:08:38 PM
Can you guys tell me if this a good deal? Looking to get into CZ and I feel like this is a good price.

Brand new P-07 with the Pro Grade Package. Seller states that he bought it directly from CGW. Comes with all the original parts and also has Dawson Precision FO sights.

This is the Urban Grey model with suppressor sights and threaded barrel.

Price is $700

What do you think?

If it truly came from CGW it should also have their build ticket. That ticket will tell you everything that went into the gun and who did the work. If you are pleased with the price point, then it's one superb pistol.

How does this work? You buy a new CZ send it to CGW for mods and does CZ still honor the warranty or does it evaporate and you have no repair means except to send to where?  Does CGW assume the warranty for repairing your firearm?

Warranty is gone as soon as you make changes. CGW will stand by their work.

Is this the same if Cz custom does the work?

Yep. CZC is not affiliated with CZ. They are their own company.

That's true Dawwwg, but there are at least 2 CZ Custom pistols listed on the CZ-USA website. Who pays for the warranty work on them?

Ah, forgot about those Painter I would assume that since they are sold thru CZ USA, they would handle the warranty? Custom ones CZC sells, they would take care of?
Great questions for Stuart and David. My above posts were strictly the way I understand it
And as with everything CZ, there's not always an all encompassing answer.

I would hope that it would depend what the problem was regardless who modified the pistol.

Both CZC and CGW make quality stuff. Nothing they do to a pistol does anything but make it better.

Now if you buy a new pistol and do the mods your self and your barrel seizes in the CGW bushing because you didn't oil it...on the other hand if the finish starts peeling...

you catch my drift.

It only takes a call to CZ to find out if you ever have a problem.

I would leave that up to CZ-USA, as if they had work done by quality gunsmiths like CZC and CGW, I am willing to bet they might think about doing warranty work, I don't know for a fact, though. I haven't really had to ever send anything is for warranty work yet. :)
Now if you had it done by Bubba's Bait, Tackle and Gunsmithing....they MIGHT be a wee bit leery....

I can't speak for the CZ-USA and CZC connection, but I have little doubt CZ-USA would stand with CZC in the event a valid warranty issue surfaces.

I know CZ-USA works very well with CGW, and we have never had an issue with a valid warranty.  This is not saying CGW does warranty work for CZ-USA, we simply warranty our CGW work and products.

So CZC, CZ-USA, or CGW, you potentially have 3 x a warranty; the customer is the clear winner.

I can't really think that there ever would be - what I do know is I have not needed CZ or CGW warranty work - everything usually works just fine right from the get go. :)
