This one is going to work out pretty well. The gun is in good shape overall , except where someone used their high heal to try and get the slide stop to move ::) And the front sight endured a couple of trips to the pavement or someone was in need of a hammer , but I was able to flow it back into place with a big hammer and little file work its usable .
I will see how it shoots then upgrade the trigger and perhaps new sights ,then give it a park Job. The barrel is pretty good , with just a bit of frost / light pitting near the muzzle , I would not expect the condition of the bore to effect accuracy , at least for me .
Paint remover , then aluminum oxide at 120 lbs. cleaned things up nicely.
Thanks for looking ,

Did a little tuning with springs and converted to SAO . I also worked on the sear and hammer hooks . Changed the angle of the sear and lowered the hooks a bunch . Got things to break pretty clean and a decent pull weight .

And everything worked out well , things stayed hooked when they were supposed to . Shot exceeding well , even with the factory trigger and the 4 foot take up ;). I'll probably say this one deserves a new SAO trigger . This group was at 50 ft. and old eyes behind the sights .

I haven't decided about the sights if I want to update , I'm seeing them OK . I have some finish work to smooth out, there are a couple of spots where the gun was dinged up I need to fix , then I'll go ahead and park after everything is looking and working good .
I'm really happy with this gun at this point .

I would suggest trimming up that beaver tail a bit before any finishing. O0

I'm new to these CZs , so do you mean to bring the shape to more of a point by blending the bottom up?

Pretty much. Actually all you have to do is break that bottom edge. Makes a world of difference. SP01SHADOW has a thread detailing how it's done. I'll see if I can dig it up.

Here is one of his threads, pics of the beavertail in reply #14.

Thanks Earl. Here's what I did in that regard .

And here it is compared to a newer factory gun , I did not lose much in size . I was trying to at least give the illusion of an upswept beaver tail.

Got this one cooked up this morning . Really turned out great . I like the CZ's

Drilled and tapped the sear cage , seemed to clean the pull up just a bit .

I went with an upgraded hammer and adjustable sear and played around with the springs . Curved trigger from Armory Craft . Need some grips and probably an extended FP . Shoots very well.
Trigger breaks at 2 lbs 4 oz. Fun project
Thanks for all the help and input.

Very nice!

Kirk,
Put a CGW 10x bushing in that pistol and it will be good enough for bullseye matches. I couldn't believe how successful that one simple modification was for my admittedly very sloppy factory bushing. Before the bushing, I had rarely shot the 9mm slide and instead left a Kadet conversion on the 75B frame full of CGW parts. I only about 50k rounds on that frame now.

Joe ,
I've got a couple of those bushings coming for some others that have the removable front sight. I knocked one bushing out the other day just to see how tight they were in . Not to bad to remove.
Looking forward to the upgraded bushings , I know on the 1911's that I build the bushing fit is a big factor in accuracy.

I shot several groups under 1-1/2" at 50 yards from a rest (with a red dot) after putting the CGW bushing in my 75B 9mm slide last year. Here is the best group from one range trip. I've duplicated this result many times since.

Wow , thats impressive !
I don't think the barrel on the older 2- 75's that I have are in that good of shape . They are not bad but I'm thinking a group of that size at that range would take an excellent condition barrel . Thats simply amazing . Thanks for sharing that , I'll continue to play with the 3 that I have .
I have a mounting plate for my vortex venom coming so I can see the target . I'm getting old enough that if I get the front sight clear the target is almost completely out of focus. I can tell I'm just not seeing things to get the best out of these CZ's

Well here the gun is all dressed up . Went with the flat grips from Lok and they feel wonderful , had some fun with the color also. It is a big step for me to go with grips which did not grow out of the ground . The gun turned out really well and had a great time learning a bit about the CZ platform .
Thanks

Looks great and I really like how you worked the beavertail!

I've never seen anyone tap the sear cage. Is it just for added rigidity? I see the the purpose just never thought of that. Is it common?
