Just picked up new 97b. After calling ever dealer on Cz's website within 400 miles I found one at Mcbride's gun shop in Austin Texas which was only 80 miles from home. So on my way to pickup daughter for Christmas break from college I made the stop. I was really looking for the bd model but after putting my hands on 97b I couldn't walk away. Can't wait to shoot it! But first, other than a good cleaning and blue loc tighting the set screw to loaded chamber indicator, is there anything else I should look out for prior to taking her to the range?

Anything else to look for?...No. The CZ97B is a great gun.
Just be sure to take along plenty of ammo as you will enjoy shooting it immensely.
My youngest brother had to get one of his own after shooting mine.
I too wish that I had gotten a BD and I've seen a few lately at gun shows, but since I had mine get the "E" enhancement from CGW (Cajun Gun Works), I can't bear to part with it.

Well done, I'm sure it will serve you well.
As for things to lookout for, the only one I know of is the possibility of the LCI working loose.
A spot of Loctite will solve that.
Now, for all those tantalizing CGW upgrades...

Oh got yourself a great pistol there. I would mention that you need to be sure that the barrel bushing is indexed correctly into spring housing so it does not get damage.

Definitely do not over do it on the loc tite. A lil dab will do ya. Congrats it's an excellent firearm enjoy!

I believe thread locking compound is preinstalled in loaded chamber indicator screw from the factory for more recent production 97B

If you experience the dreaded trigger bite, you may consider getting a 85c trigger at some time. Less recurve, more comfortable shooting for those the original trigger bothers.

No need for decockers. You made the right decision.

Thanks for all the tips!

Finally got it out to the range! Man, what a sweet shooter! It ran 100 flawless rounds of S&B 230 grain. My shooting needs some work so I went ahead and got a range membership to help that out. I received a 50 dollar discount on membership with last weekends license to carry certification. Looking forward to enjoying this pistol for a long time!

Welcome !

Firing my 97B with full power 230 JHP, the gun seemed under sprung.
Installed a Wolff 22 pound recoil spring.
Much nicer now.

Congratulations! A 97B is officially on the 2018 list.

Strangly enough, the 230 S&B felt just right.
Very light and smooth recoil.
But went back to range yesterday and shot 50 rounds of white box winchester 185 grain and that had some serious recoil.
Gonna play with a few different ammo's but will more than likely give the Wolff 16lb spring a try first.

Thanks! If you get your hands on one you won't regret the purchase! I've only had mine for a short while and i'm having a blast with it. Definitely a keeper!!

For me, my 97B or 75B will never be up for sale, I'll take them to the grave with me.
