Title: Self defense rounds for Valor Bobtail commander
Post by: brutus51 on February 04, 2018, 04:41:03 PM
Just bought a Valor Bobtail in the duty finish. Wondering what self defense ammo other users have found to be the most accurate. Have always used Federal 230gr. Hydra shocks in my other .45's but they seem to shoot a bit low in this fixed sight model.

The 2 most accurate from my V-bob are Magtech 230r First Defense (FD) Bonded and Speer LE 230gr Gold Dots. I've found the Speer ammo prints dead on from my pistol and the Magtech shoots a touch high. I've shot trapped hogs with both rounds and didn't notice any significant difference in the damage done and how fast it anchored a hog.

Does anyone know what rounds DW uses to zero their guns?
