Angus, can one get just the barrel as a replacement? I'd love to try the 357Sig in my Compact .40 just for grins.

--

Hi Angus I would like to ask a question. Why does the barrel stick out the way it does? BTW welcome home. 8)

well, since the thread has been revived, i may as well ask... what kind of finish is on that p-06? it has far more luster than the cz polycoat, even slathered in oil.

MY dream of a RAMI .40 in .357 SIG fell flat on it's face.

So those of you that get the .357 option from the Custom Shop should enjoy!

Angus,

I have a P06, but have it FTF a lot. I also have a Sig 229 and an FV 5.7 and love them. No FTFs. Returned the P06 to CZ with the hope they could correct the jamming. No such luck. My thought is that it is the recoil spring. Ejects the spent cartridge, but cannot re-chamber the new one.

Two specific questions. One, where can I get a new recoil spring, perhaps stiffer? And two, how much is the .357 Sig barrel (or kit) for the P06?

Thanks,

Craig

This is a good combination for a CZ. It has somewhat less felt recoil than a 40 S&W and has a superb down range performance. The sales are not that good for most manufacturers for the 357 Sig. However with the police and federal agencies adopting it, this should change.

I like my 357 Mag in. Colt Phython. It never failed to do what I needed to do. I would love to see CZ along with the custom shop start manufacturing a CA in a 357 Sig. This looks like a win win with good marketing.

As a follow up to my previous comment, 357 Sig could fit well in the CZ lime up. It works, it is accurate (reported to be better than the 40 S&W) and would work innermost CZ's that fire the 40 S&W without a lot of tooling or engineering design.

Here are some other's comments.

I put in Buds Gun Shop imventory of 357 Sigs not as a plug but to show who is manufacturing them and what would compare well with most CZ's.

Post revived!

That is a sweet P-06. I shoot the .357 Sig in my Glock 31 and love it. Extremely accurate and loud as hell. What's not to love?

Okay I will pile on to keep this thread going. It seems as if it were done a while back but there is not much chatter on this conversion now.

Did anyone ever do the conversion?
Were parts ever available or is it only done if sent to CZ custom?

I have been thinking of a p01 but if I could have a p06 that shot both .40 and .357sig I might be swayed

Anyone have info?

I too plan on getting a 4+ inch (ish) CZ in .357 Sig. W/ Ameriglo tritium / fiber-optic front sights, and HD adj. sight in the rear W/ a single tritium vial in the back for the Str8 -8 or XS type sight pic. Hi Viz Day or night.

As far as I'm concerned The more, accurate the gun shoots, and the smoother, lighter, crisper the trigger W/O hurting carry gun reliability the better!

I'd rather get it like that Stock or as close to stock as possible, but Now if I gotta go custom then so be it.

If I could find a 357 sig barrel for a P06 I would buy it for sure, and then I'd work on getting a P06.

I believe they are fitting a second 9mm barrel then rechambering that barrel for the .357 SIG.

Stuart:

When you say "THEY" do you mean CZ-Custom here in the USA?

Does anyone make a Hard (Gun Smith) fit Target grade thick heavy 9MM Bbl for a Cz pistol

I like most of the P06 features .. but really what I wanted was a 4 to 4.5" Bbl Steel Rail frame, DA/SA Comp grade trigger, safety, no FPB feature, just like my 70 series 1911 except for the DA/SA trigger. but higher ammo capacity than my 8+1 SSTK, and shooting W/ a stays flat muzzle in the .357Sig. cal. and W/O the price tag of a custom.

Someone here was kind enough to tell me that I could get almost every thing I wanted out of the steel railed Cz 75 compact in .40 S&W then convert it to .357Sig. W/a BBl swap. so that's what I was going to do but... then I read here that the version I liked have been Discontinued, :o ???

If that hadn't of happened then I was going to get the trigger reach reduction kit, Competition Hammer, and the best Firing Control Group micro - polished, trigger job 6#or less DA- under 3# SA that I could have gotten done or just done it myself, then put in a Spring-co recoil reducer like STI runs, and then ... big sigh

Back to the P06 I guess??

But I have a really hard time settling for an Alloy framed De-cocker - blocker model, maybe I'll be forced to go to a customized P06- Shadow Hybrid W/ the steel Shadow frame, W/ the P06 .40S&W slide and heavy walled Hard fit 9MM Bbl reamed to .357Sig no FPB, ETC,ETC. I bet that will end up costing me way more than my 09 Dan Wesson custom 1911 and I'm sure it will more than double the cost of a used Cz 75 .40 steel compact or new alloy model .40 P06.. :'(

OH well I guess I'll just be sitting back and contemplating for a while to see if I can find a used Discontinued model or to see what happens W CZ bringing it back into production....

Sorry but I'm long winded thanks
