CZ custom will chamber for the .357 SIG.

its cost of a new barrel, rechamber the barrel and fit the new barrel about $375 for the conversion.

Why doesn't CZ just make a 357 barrel and allow us to buy it?

My Sig 226 came as a 40 S&W but they sold me a second barrel for the 357 SIG for only $175.  I use the same mags.  If you are intrested, the 357 round is a fair bit snappier than the 40 S&W, even in a full-sized pistol.

Or is that too easy?

Thank you very much Stuart you have eased my mind a bit.

So Stuart plz tell me what do you think the game plan would be?

do you think they'll Maybe use a Shadow rail frame and pair it W/ a P06 or PCR? top end, I cant remember Which is which but  I really like the tri topped slide look as long as I get a true 4"-4.5" Hard fit target grade BBl, and an equivalent Trigger job W/ it I'm sure I'll like it.

I always felt .40's twist slightly when fired. Im told do to high pressured rd. So being able to shoot both the .40 & .357 sig. Is a great idea. Where do I order the barrel for my CZ P-06

Seconded.  Why, for the price of doing what Sig and Springfield do for under $200, is it twice that amount for CZ USA?

Am I to understand that the same barrel in a P-06 can accommodate both the .40 cal and the 357 sig?  The latter uses a 9 mm, no?  What am I missing?  Thanks for the interesting discussion.

Nope its a different barrel, the rest stays the same as the 40 cal

ND...
not sure what  you mean by the gameplan?

The shop can do the conversion to most of the .40 cal guns. been done to several P06 guns, Tactical Sport. Should be doable to the SP01 Tactical in .40 and the discontinued .40 compact.

Angus-
There have been comments that the 357 sig is more accurate than the 40 cal, other things being equal.  Is the rate of twist greater in the 357 barrel?  Could that be pertinent to the greater accuracy?  Thanks.

Does the only necessary change involve the barrel?  Or are new springs required?  Do the same magazines fit the 40 and 357?  Sorry for ignorant questions . . . have not actually seen and compared these two rounds.

mags are the same..you may need to change recoil springs depending on ammo specifications.

I'll add my voice to this one!  There is no reason that CZ can't put out a .357SIG barrel to purchase as a swap out part, except that they seem to be very closed off to customer input.  I'm not talking about CZC(Angus's Shop), but CZUB proper.  There is a sizable, not huge but sizable, market here in the US for those that own a .40 solely to have the ability to easily swap out to .357SIG and back again!  Currently that market is dominated by Glock and SIG Sauer, but as fast as CZ is growing here (the lack of availability for many models being proof of that) there is no reason that they should not be able to offer what their competitors have for a long time now.

I LOVE CZ's and have definitely been bitten by the bug, but some of their decision making on products baffles me.

Also, they need a US plant to make their product more available and so that they can compete in the Army's new Pistol trials!  Perhaps with a more ergonomic CZ 97D Compact with 12+1 capacity?

FYI, it's not just Sig and Glock - Springfield has an XD in 357Sig (both in 4" and 5" varieties), and/or you can order a 357Sig barrel for your XD40 directly from Springfield.
