Carrying a CZ full size?
« on: September 07, 2008, 06:10:16 PM »
Does anybody carry a full size SP01? How easy is it to carry? I was thinking about the compact SP01 but I think I want the full size to get into competitive shooting as well. Unless the compact would still be satisfactory for competitive shooting I guess.

I had one (sold it), and it was too bulky for concealed carry. If you are in an area where you can open carry, the weight would not be a problem with the proper holster and gun belt, but (for me) it would be too big for concealed carry other than under a heavy coat during winter.

If it is for carry, I'd go for a gun without the light rail. 1) finding holsters are more difficult 2) it adds more bulk 3) you can't conceal carry with a light attached 4) if you just want a laser, get Crimson Trace grips.

IMHO, light rails on a pistol are for home defense guns (even though a shotgun would probably be better than a pistol) or military/police usage.
