CZ SP-01 Shadow VS. Tanfoglio Stock II
« on: January 15, 2009, 09:56:23 AM »
I am looking for a production division pistol for USPSA and wanted to see if anyone had an opportunity to compare the CZ SP-01 Shadow to the Tanfoglio Stock II? I hear the Stock II might be released this year in the U.S. and assuming they do, I am considering either the Shadow or the Stock II.

Your thoughts and input is appreciated.

be nice if/when the Stock II is released..that is a nice looking gun..reports I have heard it is pretty cool..
perhaps one of the shooters from Canada or Austrailia  will chime in as they have both available to them.

I am shooting a Shadow right now..and am very happy with it..

Since the Tanfoglio is a clone of the CZ, one would think it would feel the same (ergonomically) as the CZ for the most part.

Eerw, you are a bad influence on me. I might forget the comparison and simply buy a Shadow if I keep looking at that picture! That is a sweet looking shooter you have there!

from what I understand..the Stock II is built on the large frame gun..it is 3 ounces heavier than the SP01.

I found these on a shooting forum...the StockII looks great..
lot of great features..
upswept beavertail, ext mag release, ext. ambi safeties, big magwell, adjustable sights, FO front, overtravel stop, checkered frontstrap and backstrap, bull barrel, etc..

this will be  a great gun...hope it gets into the US soon

My god, that looks damn close to flawless.
The grips fit perfectly to the rest of the gun.
I like how the Tanfoglios have clean straight lines from the trigger to the muzzle.

Since that is a large frame pistol, I wonder if those alloy grips will fit on a 97B? ???

It says they have small frame and large frame grip panels. But it does not say if they would fit a CZ. Since the EAA is a clone I am sure they would but I am not going to spend $120 for a maybe. :P

I like the Tanfos...  It seems that they really have an eye on IPSC wants/needs.  I bet if they had a distributor that wasn't completely crap (EAA), you'd really see them take off in the US market.  They make a lot of cool guns, for VERY reasonable prices.

I would have to have one first. ;D But it is on my CZ to have list right next to a Phantom, 2075 9mm alloy & CZ83. Maybe for my birthday next month. I just have a hard time convincing my wife of a pistol that I can't use for IDPA or CC'ing.

Have been shooting SP01 Shadow for @ 12 months, excellent gun.
Have just ordered a Tanfoglio Stock II to run against ny Shadow for comparison. I got sick of asking questions & decided to buy & do my own R&D.
The Stock II is built on HC Limited custom frame & slide, but is shorter in OAL by 10mm.

Cheers, Ando.
