Cz83 Court?
« on: August 27, 2009, 06:11:41 PM »
OK, so I got my new CZ83 in 380. Here's where I'm puzzled...Every site I see has pics with "CZ 83 CAL. 9 BROWNING". I just noticed the other day that mine says "CZ 83 CAL.9 BROWNING COURT". What does the "court" designate?

Court, corto, translates to  "short".      9mm short ~ equivalent to 380

OK, but how come I don't see "court" on other 83's?  Was it made to market in another country perhaps?

Good question.   I had an 83 years ago.   Was marked 9mm Browning. though.

I don't think it was made to market anywhere else, guess they just decided to change the barrel stampings is all.

Think of yours as special...until you find another one marked the same... ;)

Don't know if it was "marketed" to another country, but "court" is french

What is fun is to ask the clerk at Wal-Mart for a box of 9 Browning Court ammo. I have had some fun several times and have sent several gun store owners into the books on this one. I just couldn't resist. Ilove my CZ-83 9 Browning Court pistol.
Have fun!!!!
