I've had a blast with my 7.62x25 insert, shooting from my .303 Enfield. At 100+ yards the little TOK drops about 4" compared to a cordite surplus .303 at almost 18."
Now have close to 3,000 rounds through my original CZ 52; a most enjoyable experience. Not so much for the 150 rounds through my factory 9mm CZ 52, so I usually shoot it with my spare 7.62 barrel. However, the simplicity of changing just the barrel to get a different caliber got me thinking again...
Rock Island makes a double stack magazine 1911 with 9mm and .22 TCM barrels. It uses the same magazine for both rounds.
The .22 TCM looks like the TOK and appears to be a few mm longer than the 9mm, which could put OAL close to 7.62. Numrich sells a 7.62x25 barrel for the 9mm 1911 but the TOK round is too long for the magazine...Imagine a 17 round 7.62 on a 1911 frame...
Dream a little dream.
