One answer for the 527 adjustable rear sight....
« on: March 19, 2010, 02:05:23 PM »
I contacted Marble Arms, a sight maker, with this request,
Quote
It appears nobody makes an adjustable iron rear sight that fits in the notch on the CZ 527 carbine. Would you have any interest in doing so? I think that carbine begs for an adjustable rear sight, wonderful light rifle that it is.
Thank you

Thank you for your request but we would need one of our distributors to request it and want to stock them in volume.

Bummer.

Hard to believe there is no one who makes one. I found somebody who will cut the protruding 5 round mag to an almost flush mag (modifying the mag well also). Also found a lead on a place that I may be able to get a butterknife bolt handle for my FS rifles. Hard to believe there is no one that won't offer some sort of adjustable rear sight for the 527. Have you though about some sort of receiver mounted peep sight?

That looks good CZ75....but would it fir the 527?  Looking at my 550 and 527 side by side, I have my doubts.

I've tried the NECG sight for the 550. It DOES NOT WORK on the 527's 16mm dovetail. Fortunately I was able to return it with no problems.
Rumor has it that NECG is developing a peep for the 527 for distribution later this year.

madmaxP01:

Was the angle on the Dovetail wrong or the span across the sight too wide?

I heard about the peep, but I prefer a patridge style. Darn. Time to start flooding the companys with requests.

The span across was too wide. It wouldn't cinch down narrow enough.

I have asked everyone I can think of over here, been told no, sent a message to CZ-UB to see if one exists on that side of the pond.

BTW, I sent two e-mails to NECG, both were ignored, I wouldn't look to them for help on much.

We are working on a peep sight for the 527 actions but it will be later in 2010 when it comes out. I have attached the products we carry for the CZ 550 and similar CZ firearms.

Best regards,

Mark Cromwell

Well thats good news. May not be immediate, but "soon" is better than "never".

Hello,

Just joined the site after trying to find info about this topic. Found the site via rimfirecentral. I mostly shoot Savage rifles but have an itch for a 221fb CZ,  (just put together a 20vt but didn't like having to clean the barrel so often).

Contacted Williams about a rear peep sight that might fit the 527. Haven't gotten their info yet by mail. Friday I spoke with a tech at CZ USA about adding a peep sight and he suggested mounting their Weaver rail ($60) onto the 527 and asking Williams if they made a sight to fit that, the FP adjustable.

I'm still scratching my head about this conversion. The Savage action is drilled and tapped for rings, so the Williams sights simply screw down on the rear of the action. Has anyone tried the Weaver rail on their CZ? The 221fb is a great caliber for 200 yrds, the peep sight would be a perfect fit.
