CZ-75 Compact w/ Rail safety/non-decock, NOT P-01?
« on: October 17, 2010, 06:01:51 PM »
So, where do I find a Cz-75 Compact with a rail safety/non-decock in 9mm? I like the P-01 yes, but that's not what I'm looking for as I don't like the decocker models and I want the grip index to be the same as my SP-01 (thumb on top of the safety). Not interested in a P-07 either, pretty much a 9mm P-01 without a decocker is what I'm after.

I've seen reviews of the model I'm looking for in .40 and CZ-USA has a picture of one on their site but I can't seem to find one, do they exist?

Thanks.

I think we are looking for the same gun.... A 75 compact all steel with accessory rail (like the po1 or po6) but in 9mm. Also with a manual saftey not a decocker. As ck1 said there is a picture of one on CZ's website when you look at the 75 Compact. Is this the 'new' style frame for the steel compacts? I have yet to find one with this style frame in a store and can't find hardly any info regarding them online. They do exist in 9mm yes? Is there a name or letter added to CZ 75 Compact that distinguishes this model from the older style with slimmer more rounded front. I'd love to hear some input! thanks

If you're talking about this one...

I'm pretty sure it has an aluminum alloy frame.  See the step just below the manual safety?  The newer aluminum alloy compact frames have this step.  There are two things that I'll point out.  First, that rail makes that pistol bulky.  Second, the steel framed CZ75 Compact is a heavy pistol.  I tried carrying my steel framed Witness Compact and it tried to pull my pants down.  Do some comparisons with alloy framed Compacts before you drop some coin on it.  If you can do without the accessory rail and opt for an aluminum alloy frame, here's a good alternative.

It's made by Canik, not CZ.  The price is better too.

The rail is not really needed but I like the look of it. I'm also not concerned about the additional weight as this will not be a CCW peice. (already have better canidate for carry). Yes, the gun in question is the one you pictured. If it is aluminum then the only difference between it and the PO1 is the manual safty? Ive stumbled across many conversations online with people wishing they could get a manual safety PO1. Do they not know about this option? Sorry about all the questions, I have tried emailing CZ with no response.

The compact with the rail pictured above is not a 9mm. It is a 40 cal.  As far as I know there aren't any 9mm railed safety compacts imported.   Mark

Yep, it is.  I used some photo editing software to zoom in on the cartridge designation.

I'll probably go with the slim front Compact then, but whats the latest news on the PO2 that has interchangable decocker/manual safety? I assume they are selling them just not importing into the US?

I am not a decocker fan, but the PCR is such a great pistol that I bit the bullet and bought one many years ago.  I typically use my thumb as a decocker on all my handguns.  However, the decocker doesn't bother me that it is there.  It would be nice to have a PCR or P-01 with a safety, though.

You can find them among the surplus guns.  Their finishes might not be pristine but they are sweet shooters.  Here is mine with the PCR alloy frame.

I would love to find the "tactical" version of that (9x19, steel frame, compact D with rail and tritium sights). My SP-01 Tactical .40 wants a "mini-me".  O0
