Grip tape alternative for aluminum grips?
« on: December 30, 2010, 07:59:42 PM »
Well I got my thin aluminum grips form czcustom and love them, however I don't like the 3M grips tape they came with.

Is there a less abrasive material I can use in place of this? Maybe something I can even get locally that I haven't thought of,thanks.

If you need a transfusion at the end of the shooting day,  your grip didn't slip.   :o

Is the skateboard tape as abrasive as the 3M tape that came with the aluminum grips?

I used to skateboard when I was a kid, about 10 years ago. They had about 5 different grades of grip tape, some very aggressive some that were like a fine sand paper. Just head to a shop and ask to see the different kinds they have.

I use the Brooks Tactical stuff.  It's kinda like suede.  It really works well.  A little expensive, but for $25 you can do about 8 pairs of grips.
