CZ P02
« on: August 21, 2011, 02:48:23 PM »
Found this will doing some snooping around and thought I would present some questions in case you fine folks had some knowledge that I do not.

Found a "P02"
http://czcustom.com/cz75bp029mmcompactomega.aspx

-Is the presented "P02"
a) The real p02, and cz-usa just scrapped the idea of having p02 on the slide.
b)The exact same thing as how the p02 WILL BE( minus the slide engravings), but the custom shop is cornering the market until the real thing arrives
c) As close as they can come to the p02 until the real thing arrives.

-Also, can the firing pin block be removed on a omega trigger?

I will present the exact same questions to the custom shop.

On a side note take a lot at this one, WOW nice:

Now that looks slick, and the price reflects such. Not saying I have not spent near that for a handgun before, but I don't know if that is THAT much of a gun.

The P-02 is a much rumored pistol, and I know that CZ wants to make sure every new product is 100% before it comes in to the US. I am surprised to see it advertised here, I can say that much. The ProTek III is nice, but pricey.

I have the Protek compact cz75 pcr -fantastic pistol, would love to have the latest version the custom shop makes great firearms, wish i had the cash for one . I was thinking that I could order the base pistol for the for the 588.00 have them do the trigger workon it ,then have novaks install better sights , and then I could custom refinish it and come in at about a grand to do it. I just can't swing 1450.00 right now for their pistol.

I'd give an unused body part for a ProTek 1... 8)

Well, while I'm no expert, I'd say you most likely need them all for something or another. :D

There must be another way... ;)

for a while there wasn't the P01 rollmarked Compact D?

Yes, and I think the P01 is still marked this way in Europe. It is still on the CZUB website anyway. NSN is still on the frame but the slide rollmarking is CZ 75D Compact. ??? It's a bit confusing if you ask me.

Got a reply from the custom shop and was told basically their "p02"  is the same thing as the same thing as the european p02.  The American p02 will be the same thing but with P02 engraved on the slide.

Now I only need to find out about the omega trigger vs. standard trigger, as it would not be safe to remove the FPB using the decocker. I found the FPB removal on the cz-75 greatly improved the trigger.

I will say I have heard the P-02 is in Pakistan and well recieved there. There just might be reasons the American version isn't here yet.

Saw a P02 at the show last weekend. Identical to the P01 minus the P02 and Omega stamp on the slide. I didn't even know they existed until then.

I JUST found out that the P-02, a transitional model, was shipped in and given what they call a "soft" release. It isn't cataloged yet, but might be in the future depending on model changes. That's all I know so far.

Not many items brought in, so no trumpets or fanfare, just direct to a select distributor. CZ has done it before, like with the CZ-85 Compact. Usually that is with very limited runs of an item to test the waters.

I have mine. Omega is really easy to break down to a bare frame and back. Some things I noticed:

The trigger pin is already notched for unlimited removals, the gun only came with a safety, but the manual says it can be exchanged for a decocker, and the trigger is smooth right out of the box. I could tell very little difference between the stock internals vs post-polished internals. Trigger is really smooth with no stacking with a 13# main spring and CGW SD kit. I am having a holster made for it right now and it will be my compact sized CCW for almost everything.

snakeye, no worries, I don't need someone in a leotard. :)
