cz 527 action
« on: November 28, 2011, 11:29:24 AM »
I picked up a CZ 527 in .223. When I got the rifle I found the action stiff, no the butter smooth action of my VZ-24. So I took it apart and noticed the fit of the parts needed to be better. The use of Prussian blue confirmed my suspicions   I lapped the extractor collar, the bolt cam surfaces on the rear of the bolt and race way where the bolt travels. I was careful not to get any lapping compound in the locking lugs, even tho the contact in that area needed some work. The action now is much smoother and faster.
Has anyone else had this problem?
The rifle shoots sub-minute of angle with factory loads.

I have been browsing various forums, reading reviews and comparisons of cz550. A few users have said the same about the action being rough initially, but it smoothened out after about 150 dry fires (dry running the bolt) and a few live rounds. Am planning to pick up a cz550 soon.

i owned a few of these i never came across that problem, most needed a little tweak or two to the magazine- action fit to smooth up the round feeding.

Mine is a little stiff when stripping the top round of a full magazine but smooth after that. Love the rifle however!
