FYI: Classifieds post limits
« on: May 22, 2012, 11:29:53 AM »
Recently, there have been a number of ads posted by newly joined members, some even being the first, and so far, only, post. While we appreciate that this opens up chances to purchase items for the existing membership, it is also important to realize that this board is not a 'poor man's Gunbroker'. Nor is it simply a place for people to unload their items, never to be heard of again. It is a community for enthusiasts, primarily of the CZ firearm, but also for those who simply enjoy the shooting disciplines for their own sake.

Therefore, the Owners and Management of the board have decided that as of May 22, 2012:

• The use of the Classifieds to sell items is restricted to members with a post count of 25 or greater.

Please also familiarize yourselves with the other General Rules contained in the Classified section.

Thank you for your co-operation.

I am a brand new member, and recently purchased a cz p-01 compact handgun. I will abide by the rules, as well as post often. I have been searching everywhere for cz products to customize my pistol will this rule apply to buyers as well? although i probably will be posting more than required amount.

Only applies to those who wish to post an ad to Buy, Sell or Trade. Buyers have no restrictions.

I am a new member, I really like my CZs (modified cz75 & Kadet), I enjoy this forum and I value it as a resource for information.  I would also like to place a "WTS" advertisement, but that is not an option as I have only made a few posts & I understand the rules.  I believe the policy that only permits adds to be placed by members that have made a lot of posts will tend to degrade the quality of the forum.  I think the policy fosters a lot of short low value posts by new members that would like to place an add.  Just my opinion.

[Mods Added: That may well be, but Stop and Think. Isn't 25 short, silly posts the Exact thing that automated scammers and bots cannot do ? ]

25 posts is not that big of a deal. I'm a member on a forum that requires you to become "verified" before you can even see the classified section. So, not only can you not post for sale/for trade threads, you can't even see what other people are selling until you become verified. It's kind of a hassle, but it weeds out 99% of spammers and scammers. A minimum post count to be able to post for sale ads is not too much to ask, IMHO.

I know there is no way to judge it,  but on NJgunforums you could message a mod and he would use his discretion if it was good for the community

Really suck to have a guy needing to pay his mortgage and wanting  to sell his Kadet  kit for 300 shipped but can't post because he doesn't have 25,posts.. Then a fellow CZer don't pay his mortgage and another fellow CZer over pays on GB

Should be able to message a mod for approval

Just an idea,  much better for everyone to keep CZ stuff within  the forum

I understand the limit to sell I guess but even with limits, folks get burned on forums sometimes.
I've been hanging around here since 2008 but don't have much to say, but I read...a lot!.
I just call CZ Custom or Cajun Gunworks on the phone if I have questions...

It's a shame us quiet types have to offer our CZ stuff somewhere else.  :-\

Oh well...It's not my forum.
Carry on.

It's not really that hard to welcome 25 people to the forum. Just saying

Exactly. Instead of complaining, how about, you know...participating?

I'm a new member and understand and respect this policy. I do plan on selling in the near future. I only wish I would of registered sooner. I've been a guest user here for about 2 years.
