Where can I find a CZ-75 Compact or Compact Carry?
And does anyone have experience with this gun?
Does it shoot as well as the standard CZ-75?

I meant the CZ-75 BD Compact  which is the .40 S&W version.

Didn't think there was a .40 version -- at least not in the US.

...is that CZ had completed tooling up for these models and made some for sales/promotional purposes, but they delayed full-scale production in order to complete the P-01 contract for the Czech government.  Bandit (a member) saw them at the 2001 SHOT Show, but none were actually imported that year.  These pistols were listed in the 2001 CZ-USA paper catalog, but they weren't in the 2002.  The latest word is that they should hit the stores late in 2003.

If you're looking for a CZ compact, you might have better luck locating a P-01 right now, the replacement for the PCR. It looks like all the CZ dealers have finally received their shipments of them.

I picked one up at a gun show this weekend.  I'm in North Carolina, so over here "Ed's Gun Shop" and "Firepower Inc" are two shops that actually have P-01's in stock.  They are also long-time CZ dealers, so they may actually have some CZ Compacts (steel frame) hanging around the shop too.  P-01 sells for around $420, but I've heard some shops selling for as low as $400 (I paid 420).

The P-01 is a terrific handgun-- alloy frame (aluminum?) so it's lighter than the regular Compact.  However, it also has accessory rails, and not everyone likes that.  And, it's a decocker, so you can't go locked-and-cocked.

The accessory rails also mean that it won't fit molded CZ75 holsters.  Sig Pro, Glock 17,  and HK-USP .40 holsters seem to fit.

That's my 2 cents...

CZ has teased us all for a long time with the Comp Carry 40.
Be patient and it should be out in about 9-10 months....
Shoot well

Breathe deeply and slowly, then repeat as in a chant ---

"I GOTTA HAVE A COMPACT 40 S&W!"

Extend for a time frame of nine months to ??? and when you quit, there it will be.

.... correctly that this will be the "meltdown"
CZ 75BD Carry Compact in .40 S&W with the de-cocker that was first introduced at the 2001 Shotshow in New Orleans??????

This is the CZ that I've been waiting more than 2 years for!!!!  And I must admit that it has been a very impatient wait!!!

The CZ press announcement on the CZ 75BD Carry Compact can be found in the CZ-USA archives at this link

www.cz-usa.com/_p/p42.php#

Scroll down to the 2000-12-01 announcements and you'll find it.

I LOVE this CZ!!! :D :D :D

Actually the only "meltdown" that will occure is if 12 months go by and this Compact is a NO SHOW.  Then ut83, FEG and a bunch of others are going to MELTDOWN.

I emailed CZ-USA the following question and they have replied:

I've been reading rumors that CZ will be exporting to the U.S. the long awaited CZ 75BD Compact Carry in .40 S&W.

Please tell me this is TRUE!!!!!

I've been impatiently awaiting this CZ since I first learned of its introduction at the 2001 Shot Show in New Orleans!

I LOVE this CZ!!!

Reply from CZ-USA:
We will have a Compact 40 not the Carry model though. Should arrive in September. Thanks

Looks like I'm still waiting!:(

So what exactly does that mean, "not the carry model". Could it be that they are importing the REMI and not the Compact carry?  Could it be that once again we will be left to wait another year for the elusive .40 compact carry?  Tune in for an update.........

Well .....:rolleyes ..... as I understand this, CZ-USA will be importing the Compact in .40 S&W this fall,(the "unmelted" model), but we'll have to wait for the Compact Carry :rolleyes >: :rolleyes

Who knows when or if we'll ever get the Compact Carry.  I find this VERY >:  distressing as this is MY DREAM GUN!!!

As for the CZ RAMI, I recently posed the following question to CZ-USA and they answered:

"Is this ultra-remarkable CZ pistol going into production and will it be offered to the US market?
I hope the answer is YES!!!"

CZ-USA replied, "It is being discussed now. Thanks"

Well, we'll have to wait and see! :rolleyes

I have zero interest in the RAMI but I'm sure others will find it interesting.  However I could get very interested in a PCR type .40.  But if that doesn't happen my PCR loaded with Gold Dots will be just fine.
