So this thread was totally high jacked. Has anyone ever used the magnetic scope mount? If so tell us about it.

Yeah I agree. Can we get back on topic and somebody guinea pig this thing and let us know how it works?

Obi Wan, I would be interested in a top cover mount! I prefer that , although it would require a super short optic. I took the plunge on a LER scope and your HG rail but haven't been able try it out yet (or even buy rings).

Obiwan I would also be interested in a top cover mount. Something like the Czech made model that does not have to be removed with tools. I would like to use it for a magnifier. Zahal has their mount listed as a "Best Seller" and it is $300.

Hey Obi, make this thing happen!!! I think if you do it right and for a fair price i.e. NOT $300, they would sell like hot cakes.... I bet more VZ rifles would be purchased too...

is there really thay much demand for a topcover mount?  I have a sweet design for one, but figured no one would buy them.  Mostly because you can still only use a very short optic, and mounting one would prevent use of irons.

ObiWan, I'd be interested in one... with the right rings you could still use irons, and have the option of using the front HG for an RDS, and maybe even the side rail to mount an additional scope... hehe... 3 optics on one VZ... now I have to do it, just so I can see it!
It's better to burn out than to fade away!

I think I'd put an ADM or LaRue cantilever mount with an AimPoint Comp M3, I know the spent casings would clear the optic overhang, this is the best way to go IMO...

The magnifier would sit much too far from the sight and and if you offset the magnifier closer to the sight, it'll become an expensive shell deflector. The guneXpert mount looks promising but costs way too much! You can also say goodbye to iron sights with either set up.

I made a few calls to Century when this thread first appeared, and received the following e-mail (sorry I forgot to forward this to the group):

Cary,
This is what I was told by the tech guru up in VT regarding the mount:

“Good Morning;

According to the directions in the box, the cover snaps over the receiver cover and is held by a small lip on the front and the magnets. You can also bend the sides if they are too loose or tight”.

I don’t know if that helps at all, but does seem there may be something in place to help with any wobble that may arise during shooting.

I tried to talk Chris into letting me be a Beta tester on this mount, but he wasn't interested.
