Tisas zigana M16 pistol
« on: November 10, 2012, 08:13:23 AM »
I just got a Tisas Zigana M16 pistol last week and have shot it several times. Shoots nice but it must not like me as it shoots low for me. My shooting buddy shot it yesterday and it shot pretty good for him, but just a tad bit low. We were bench rest shooting at 15 yards. The ejected casings do not fly very far compared to my cz75, cz83 and Bersa's.

Does anyone else have experience with this Zigana M16.

It looks alot like my CZ75 but take down is different. Barrel is 5 inch and recoil spring feels a lot stiffer than the cz75. All steel turkish made gun at reasonable price.

Thanks
Tom

Interesting.  Never heard of them before this.  http://milpas.cc/rifles/ZFiles/Pistols/Semi-auto%20Pistols/ZIGANA/ZIGANA.html

Not a Cz Clone, so off the the General Firearms Section, this goes.

If I recollect correctly a chap from Tisas was a contributor on this forum.  At one time I was looking for on eof these pistolsm but the safety was mounted on the slide which was a show stopper for me.  From what I have read, they were reliable pistols.

That stiff recoil spring is what is keeping the spent cases close. It is probably in the 20# range. You might try your CZ 75 spring in it if it will fit.

Hey Jim Thorne Tx, I got the zigana from Classic firearms up in North Carolina. Good folks to deal with. Maybe you are right as a CZ clone like the canik might have suited me more. Easier to find spare magazines for as well. I think the Witness mags may work in addition to the sig 226 mags. Will try some soon. At $359.95 including shipping and FFL transfer fee, it still is a good bargain

My buddy shot the gun much better than me so I was having an OFF couple of days. Gone thru over 100 rounds so far.

The spring on my cz 75 is slightly shorter and softer. Tisas spring 118 mm long and 8.8 mm in dia uncompressed. The cz75 spring is 112 mm long by 9.4 mm in dia uncompressed. The cz spring will actually fit in the slide and over the spring guide tube but seems to catch slightly down inside the front of the slide.

Tekarra, Was just wondering why slide mounted safety was show stopper for you? The safety is a decocker so it can be carried hammer down.

Thanks for the inputs guys.
Tom

thb0330,

The slide mounted safety was a show stopper for me as I had been shooting cZ75s and 75Bs for a number of years and did not like the higher mounting on the slide.  A personal preference and am not saying anything adverse about the pistol

Both A-man and I saw the initial Tisas intro on another forum.  It was very interesting and worth a look.
They came out with the 45ACP first here in this country.  Enjoy the below videos.

I have a Regent R100 (IAC) 1911 (made by Tisas) and it has run flawlessly through about 2000+ rounds.
