CZ had better start offering rifles in more modern calibers such as .280 Remington. Around here, the .280 Remington is more common in custom rifles than .30-06 or .270 Winchester. 7x64mm Brenneke has been offered by CZ for a long time in Europe, so you would think they would offer US shooters the US equivalent.
The 557 is basically the 550 model minus the single set trigger.
Even Winchester is offering the new Model 70 Featherweight in 7x57mm Mauser. A cartridge that just about all other US manufacturers has forgotten. I know, factory ammo sucks in the USA for 7x57mm Mauser, but I don't shoot factory ammo except for brass. CZ should also offer true short and intermediate actions, and not just the standard old .30-06 action length.
If you have the money for a Sako or Kimber, you can get your rifle in the exact action length for the cartridge. Time for more factories to get with the program. AT least CZ offers a true mini-action for the .222 Rem class of cartridges.
CZ should also address the new Ruger .375 Compact and .338 Federal cartridges with rifle actions expressly fitted to those cartridges. The CZ 550 action is a bit long and heavy for a brush gun, and the new short magnums are becoming more popular all the time.
