52 Grips Without the Clip?

One of those 'just wonder'ings . . .

Has anyone ever found a good way to attach grips to a 52 without using the original c-clip around the back?

Drilling and tapping?

A soluable glue?

Wolverine spit? Okay, Czech wolverine spit?
