CZ-52 barrels

Okay, talking about non 7.62x25 cal barrels.  I know I can find 'nos' and used orginals online from the auction places.  Heck, even Cheaper than Dirt has stripped barrels listed.  So does the Sportsman's Guide (standard, ported and threaded 12x1 metric).  Granted, I'm not sure who makes the SG ones....(they even list magazines!)

I know that Federal Arms made 9mm converstion barrels and they are gone the way of the carrier pigion.

Is there anyone out there that makes a barrel for the CZ52 in 9mm currently or any other caliber?  I'm sort of thinking of a 38 Super barrel for my CZ (for some odd reason I love that round...and I would use 38TJ brass...has the same rim as a 9mm, orginal 38 Super is semi rimmed).

Sportsman's Guide bought up the rest of the Federal Arms barrels, so that's where they're from.

I hear they're now sold out of these barrels.

AFAIK, nobody makes any aftermarket barrels for the CZ-52 any more.

.38 Super is a bit hot for that barrel.  9x23 Largo worked because it was low pressure.  9x23 Winchester, OTOH, is a bit hot.

Thanks for the info.

I noticed in the other thread, you posted that threaded 7.62x25 stainless barrels are avail again.  Might I ask who made them?  (I'm guessing they are not Federal Arms....)

It didn't work for me.
Go to militarygunsupply.com and you can find the barrels there.

Just got a stainless threaded barrel from Karl and George at makarov.com. They have standard length and threaded stainless. Here is mine with the 6 port brake.

capt md, did I read you correctly in saying that you want a 16.5" barrel for your CZ52 pistol?  i know where you're going with that one I think & I'm working with a 07FFL guy who is excited about making a CZ52 pistol carbine.
We have the question of how the barrel is attached to the chamber block.  upon very close inspection, i seem to be able to find a very fine fillet weld where the barrel meets the block.  if so, this is great in that we can just cut down an existing barrel & either braze, silver solder or weld on a new carbine length barrel.  .30 cal barrels are extremely easy to come by.  That's the only limiting factor here is attaching the barrel to the block.  After that, drilling and tapping the frame for a foregrip and welding on a stock are no big deal.  We just need to keep it legal under the radar of the ATF & as long as we play by the rules, it should be a great little carbine.
I'll keep you posted.

RIGHT ON PhotoPhill--I was thinking of a shaped guncase the gun would slide out of, makeing the stock. alla BATF correct!
? Could a 30 cal BBl be threaded female threads to male threads at the chamber? secure with silversudar. Ideas welcome, thanks for the reply.
