9mm Headstamp?
« on: August 17, 2013, 04:49:03 PM »
At a match today, I picked up several WCC NATO brass along with my WINs..  I picked up one, that looked identical to the Winchester brass except it was stamped "WMA"  "13" with the NATO stamp equally spaced around the head.   It had the  typical crimp ring around the primer hole.
I checked my Headstamp info sources and "WMA" wasn't listed.  This is the first WMA I've ever seen.
Anyone familiar with WMA brass?

Well Wobbly played a key roll in "MY" manufactured ammo, so maybe I should modify "my" reload headstamps. :-\ ;)

Another fella on a different forum had the same question so he asked Winchester and they sent this reply:
"Those rounds are loaded to the same spec as our standard 9mm Luger. Winchester head stamps for that load can vary from WCC, WMA or 9MM Luger.
Whatever shell cases are available at the time get used to make that product to ensure that there is a constant flow of quality ammunition being produced. This is not uncommon. Best Regards, Winchester Technical Services Dept."

So that just about has to make Wobbly's ammo nearly priceless, no?   :D

Thanks for the info on WMA,  I sort by headstamp and have several thousand reamed WCC case and have never run across WMA before.  They DO look identical to WCC.
During this shortage, all kinds of never-been-seen-before -stuff- is showing up.  I was just curious.
