P-09 Disassembly/Reassembly Video new version 2-8-14
« on: February 08, 2014, 10:28:40 PM »
I installed the new CGW hammer kit and will shoot it on Sunday.  For those of you who are going to be putting in the kit here soon, here is an updated version of the original videos I made.  This is about 22 minutes and covers disassembly and reassembly, but the shots are better of the disconnector/sear/trigger bar area.  I had some trouble getting those back together properly the first time I took my P-09 apart.

I hope this helps you guys with the install of the CGW parts.  Can't wait to test my gun with the new parts tomorrow.

Here is the link...

This is fun.  Tedious and demanding, but fun.

Great start-to-finish video, Joe. Let us know how you do at the range.

I'm eager to get started using this video as a guide when I get my P-09. Thanks!

Excellent.

Can you do a new video showing the trigger pull with no creep and also show the reset?

It would be very helpful and much appreciated.

Done.  Posted separately in this forum.  Let me know if you have any questions.

Nope, but I will make one next time I have everything set up again for videos.  It is easier than a 75B, and I use the same slave pin as I do with a 75B to hold the trigger spring in place while installing the trigger pin.  The trigger pin itself comes out easily, just like a CGW trigger pin.  If you can find a video on the 75B, look at it first, then you should be able to do the P-09 or P-07.

These videos are great, Joe.  If you ever replace the sights on your P-09, don't forget to make a video of that as well.  :D

Thanks Joe. Just ordered the cgw short trigger reset kit. Hopefully by next weekend the computer will be in the basement with me, and I will be installing the STR on my 07. May put the safety on it when reassembling.

Slide comes apart just like the 75B.  When you put the firing pin retaining pin back in, just make sure you push the firing pin forward enough so that the pin clears the firing pin.  I usually put the slide in a vise, start the pin, push the pin forward with one hand and tap the retaining pin in with the other hand far enough to hold the firing pin.  I think.  Did it two months ago.
