Sorry joe never had anything longer than a 17.  Do you have a local machine shop?  I am thinking of getting tungsten and getting one turned.  If I had a lathe I could do it.  Went to school for machining.

I could make one out of a 1/4" bolt if I had to.  Not a big problem.  Just thought I could get something off the shelf that was a little cleaner, that's all.  There really isn't anything wrong with the stock rod, even with the capture screw broken off.

Just got back from range.  The cgw 14# recoil spring Makes a difference.    I believe I could go less.  But maybe not much for reloads I want too use once I can find the powder.  Anyone know where I can find a 11 ,12 and 13# springs could I use a full size and cut it or a glock19 spring.  Is the glock guide rid same thickness.  I had a gen 1 17 that I did everything too but don't have any parts they went to next person.  I can say with the help of David and Stuart's parts this compact cz is a better gun now.  Much more comfortable.  Just feels like a heavy rod and new trigger will complete it.  If anyone has new style trigger or wants to trade I would live to get one before next idpa match.  Or if anyone finds one please let me know

Does it fit flush,  is it correct diameter 1/4 inch and 7/16 for can and insert base
Thanks a lot.  Stock p07 is 1/4 rod 7/16 base and a hair over 3 inches long.  I just emailed someone who makes custom glock rods that have a glass breaker in front.  I like them because it keeps
It from being knocked out of battery when The barrel gets pushed against something.(probally will never happen.  If the dimensions are right I'll be ordering it.

Joe there is company's that make a extended guide rod for glock 34 that fit flush.  Called my buddy who got me into glocks when I got my ccw when I turned 21.  He had one that he fitted it with flush guide rod but notice barrel sticks out 1/4 inch from slide. There's were companies making glass breakers too that would be a bit longer.   Measure a 19 today at gandeir mountain( prices are ok but new employees at local one here in muncy are much more helpful then before) today the measurement where 3/16 rod 5/16 base and 3 inches long.  I am still debating on ss p07 one or glass breaking glock 19 version.

DPM Systems has a triple spring system that's pretty pricey on sale now for $75 http://www.dpmsystemsusa.com/CZ_c_9.html

Thanks, not sure if I personally would like the Dpm system seems its bouncy.  I've seen videos where the recoil is less first but too seems recoil the front sight up twice if you watch video close. Wouldn't  be against two springs though.  75 bucks is a bit but for some apps it might be worth it.  I am all for new tech. I am suPrised nobody has a shock or hydrolic recoil setup that's adjustable.  I am going to stick to a solid ss one because it's idpa legal.  I really like it and it's fun training, competing and tuning. I wish I could find one every week close by.  I made up my mind I'll get the same one Ares has if it fits good.

measured my glock ISMI spring/NDZ stainless rod vs. stock plastic p07 guide rod.

glock - length -2.987
          base - .428
          rod - .242

cz - length - 3.022
      base - .421
      rod - .240

the screw on the glock rod sticks just a little past the front of the slide.  lock up is solid and allows for changing spring weights.  the stock spring was so soft that the brass was flying 10+ away and that was with my reloads which are no where near factory velocity. I already had several glock springs/rod combos as I made my own spring kit.  the #15 spring was not being used so I threw that in the p07 and works like a charm.

Joedirt--thanks for posting the dimensions for the P-07 parts.  I have only the P-09 and it is identical except for the overall length, which is 3.76" not including the screw head.

Looks to me like the Glock 17 rod and spring combination is a direct replacement for a P-07.

Well, guys, I'm new to the P-09 and I'm considering buying one. From what I can tell from this thread is that the P-07 comes with a plastic RSG, so is it also plastic from the factory in the P-09? If so, that will increase my investment in a P-09 where I'll likely want to add a heavier recoil spring for my +P handloads. Maybe I'm not reading this correctly as it seems odd to me that CZ would use a captured set-up with a plastic RSG that is threaded with a screw at the muzzle end. Please advise!  ;)

Nope, the P-09 guide rod is steel, no worries.  Mine is fine.

Not glock 17 rod. The glock 19/23 is a replacement for the p07

Is the 19/23 rod a different length than the Glock 17 rod?  My Glock 17 rod is 3.14".

Glock 17 rod should be longer since the barrel is little longer than the 19/23.
