You want a weapon that you draw, point, and squeeze the trigger. If it involves more than that (like disengaging a manual safety) and you don't train frequently, when crunch time comes nothing will happen. The decocker allows the weapon to be carried decocked with a round in the chamber.

Trick is, you can do all of that with the CZ 75 Compact.  You just have to decock the weapon manually.  The Compact is DA capable, and the safety only engages when the hammer is fully cocked.  In other words, you don't have to disengage the safety for a DA first shot, because it won't engage with the hammer down in the first place.

its all in how your trained!!!

I am a 1911 fan as well.
It is normal for me to rake the safety on draw without thinking of it.
one of the reasons I got a RAMI over a P-01 or PCR....Condition 1

its also natural for me to engage the safety when chambering a round.
there have been times that I have chambered a round. and holstered.
I had to look to make sure I engaged the safety because I didnt remember doing it.....of course...it was engaged.

no matter what you use....just make sure you are trained on what to do when you need it.
