Grip screws
« on: August 15, 2014, 05:28:06 PM »
Don't you just hate when you know your getting gouged on price of something simple? If you just knew the size of grip screws you might be able to find them in town or online for less than $7.99-$9.00 plus shipping for 2 screws that eBay sites charge. I'm a CNC machinist so I took mine to work, found out the size then ordered a bag of 100 of them in stainless Torx head and they fit great. They also fit almost every gun we talk about on this CZ forum including my CZ83 & Canik Shark FC. They are 3.5mm X 0.6 thread X 8mm long and you can find them online here.

That is great. Coming from an Aviation Mechanic career I knew they were out there and I tried finding them myself. I searched places like McMaster-Carr and some others and could never find the exact right dimensions.

You could charge ten times what you paid and we would be glad to buy some.

McMaster-Carr is always a good resource.

I wanted to bump this thread and thank the OP for providing quality information.  If I can "pay it forward" as an appreciation, I'd like to donate 2 pair of screws to the next 5 people that post a photo of their pistol and message me their address.  Hopefully my photos work on tapatalk.

As I have both a CZ82 & CZ83, 2 pair should do the trick.

The Marschal grips that I ordered in February were shipped on May 20th and should be arriving soon.

I'll post pictures after I get them.

I've been using Hexscrews for my grips for years.  At 10 cents each you can't beat the price.

The Marschal grips will dress those up quite nicely! Not to mention they run about a quarter the price of used 82/83s.

I had been reading a series on www.sailorcurt.com about "CZ-82 Gunsmithing".

The grips coming loose have always bothered me and I was just about to put on some thin strips of Loctite Clear Power Grab, Outdoor Mounting Tape to try and keep them from "creaking".

I think the Marschal grips will come with locking washers for the screw holes. They are wrapped in a piece of paper that is easily overlooked.
