"New" CZ 83 In .380
« on: August 28, 2014, 10:51:50 AM »
A few months back, I bought a nearly new CZ83, chambered in .32 ACP.  At the same LGS yesterday, they had this gem in the display case.  This .380 was produced in late 2005, bought new by the original owner early in 2007.  Cleaned it, lubed it, and took it to the range.  It looks like it sat in the box for all that time.  Ran 150 rounds of a mix of reloads and factory ammo.  Not a single FTF, FTE.  Ran like a top, and the "big" frame soaks up a lot of recoil.

Best, Dennis

While searching for a heavier .380 for my wife, she currently carries a Taurus TCP and has problems limp wristing it and jamming next round, I came across this pistol. I'm assuming it's based off the old Remington design where the recoil spring goes around the barrel?

Yes, these are blowback guns.  The barrel is fixed to the frame and the recoil spring rides over the barrel.  Both the 82 and 83 are extremely reliable and very easy to be accurate with.  They also have a higher capacity than most .380s out there now.  When the gun fund recovers I would like to have a couple examples of both.  Only have an 82 right now.
