VZ58 ready for winter ops
« on: October 24, 2014, 12:54:56 PM »
OOW VZ2000 (stock) w/ CSA hand guard
Czech Paratrooper carrying case and sling
Cloth backed medical tape (removable) cut into various shapes.
(Pistol shown is Walther PPQ)

A cheap and cheerful method for camouflaging your rifle for winter without committing it for life to an expensive paint job.

Same here. Perhaps there is a problem with the pic host if you have to be logged in to see it.

That IS the best camo I've not seen in quite awhile  ;)

Blends right into the internet.

Ah, now I see it! Clever - how long does the stuff stay on, and does it leave a sticky residue?

Of course the old way of doing winter camo is by using white scraps of cloth wrapped around the gun.

I haven't used their winter camo. But the McNett Camoform stuff works pretty well. I've used it in the past.

However you do it. It doesn't need to be pretty. But needs to break up the form of the gun.

Sticks pretty well even in the cold. Never had trouble getting it off, but it can burn on to the barrel if it gets too hot, but a gun cleaner like CLP took it off other rifles I have done this on without too much issue.  You could try a small piece on the bottom of the barrel and test it.

Looks good Pete. I'm sure you were going partially for looks. If just for quick field use. Just wrapping the tape around the gun/mag would suffice.

I'd definitely need to secure that with some 550 cord out in the field as I'd never find it if I put it down for a minute :D Nice looking Czech carrying case too. Haven't seen that before....will have to do some Googling on it.

Check my other recent post on the carrying case.  They are new old stock for only 30 + ship on eBay.
