CZ 75 pre B firing pin spring lengths
« on: December 28, 2014, 03:03:50 PM »
Seeking knowledge from CZ gurus...

I ordered hammer and recoil springs (came with firing pin spring also) from Wolff for my '83 & '91. I changed out the '83 without issue however, when it came to the '91, the firing pin spring provided by Wolff was almost 3x the length of the one that came out (35 coils Vs 10).
I looked on CZ Custom and their firing ping spring for 75's is approx 10 coils.

I'd welcome any insights as to why the longer the spring fits the '83 and '91 requires a shorter spring? Thanks!

Different firing pin shape.
The shoulder on the older pin is further back if I recall.

Can you post a photo of yours?

Stuart, your recollection is impeccable!! Thank you! I had worked on them separately and didn't pay attention to the pin configuration but as soon as I took them out for a photo, the shoulder difference was apparent.

Picture included for reference...'83 is on the left. New spring for the '91 ordered from CZ Custom today!
