Loading CZ-97 magazines
« on: January 31, 2015, 11:21:51 AM »
I have Den's UpLula-K loader for my Kadet and use it ALL the time, I mean like 30k rounds worth so far.  I can't hardly load a Kadet magazine without it.

I've never used a magazine loader with any of my 9mm's.  Easy to load by hand.   Ditto the McCormick single stack magazines for my one-and-only token 1911.

The double stack 97 is different.  I cut my thumb on the magazine lips the first time time out with the new gun, the first time a round slipped off the top of the loaded round while trying to load the magazine.  Then I did it again the second range trip.  Put a band aid on the thumb before the third time.  Ripped up the band aid in one range trip.  There is a problem here, a shooter problem.

I ordered a standard double stack Uplula and got it in Friday.  The tongue on that thing is something my Lab would be proud of, compared to the -K version!  Will "test" it on Sunday.  Will eventually pay for itself in band aid savings, I think, LOL.   I might also smooth off the edges of the magazine some, just in case I forget or loose my UpLula.

I might even clean the blood stains off the left side of my new 97.  Sometime.

This is fun (if one is willing to learn and adapt).

I am using a standard Up Lula for all of my 9 and 45 mags as well. My brother gave me crap about using a mag loader so i bought him a Pink Up Lula for Christmas.

I would suggest leaving the blood on the mags. If you clean them they might not work as well.  ;D
Will work for CZ pics! (including but not limited to all CZ clones)

I shot my 97BDE for my CCL renew last summer without my LuLu . I was hating it... sweating in the Texas sun trying to reload.

Tried the Uplula today on the CZ-97 magazines, works great!!  Problem solved.  Thumb should heal in a week.

I never had a problem with the factory mags, but the stiffer spring in the MecGar mags makes the tenth a pain.

I use the Uplala for all double stack magazines.  Works great.  I'd rather spend the extra time shooting than prove that I am a "manly man" by loading mags without the tool.

Love my Uplula.  I bought one for my 75 9mm models and shaved it down to accommodate the mags for my Kadet.  Now I use it with the mags for my 97.

.22LR to .45 is as versatile a loader as I'll ever need.

I've never had a problem loading mags by hand,  but if I get out to the range and discover I've left my uplula at home, I'm fairly aggravated by it.  They are as good as advertised.  ;)

Thumb is healed.  Uplula stored in the same bag pouch as the magazines now.

Exactly!!!  I was happy with SIGs until I tried a CZ-75b.  I was happy with the 75B until I tried a P-09.  I was happy with the P-09 until I tried a 97, LOL.

Actually, I'm still happy with all of the CZ's right now.  My P-09's aren't going anywhere except the shooting range.

Well,
I guess I will have to be sure my wifes uplula is in the shooting bag when I get the 97 home then.

Never felt the need for a mag loader till I got that BDM.  And the P14.  Too much of a fight to get that last round in those magazines.

The uplula worked so well I got one for my youngest son and my nephew, then bought a spare for me.

I can get the 12th round in my P07, but its darn slow and a lot of effort.  The uplula makes it easier/faster.
I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?
