Hello From Oregon
« on: March 27, 2015, 10:29:49 PM »
Hello everyone. Archibald reporting in from Oregon.

I have wanted a CZ for years now after having the chance to enjoy a CZ 75 for an afternoon of shooting and finally got one. I picked up the updated P-07 and fell in love the first outing. It's a fantastic pistol that I enjoyed and will enjoy for years to come. Sturdy, smooth firing, and feels great in the hand.

I'm what some would call a liberal gun owner but when it comes to sport shooting and hunting any safe and reasonable shooter is a friend of mine. Sport shooting and hunting would not be what they are were it not for the communities and supporting each other.

I'm very much into survival and emergency preparedness as well as geocaching and a number of other hobbies. Sometimes I feel like I have too many. Guns are something I'm only recently getting back into. I know quite a bit but it's not enough and I want to learn and experience more in the world of shooting.

Thanks for the welcome. I am also from the Portland area.

I originally wanted a CZ 75 so I might put that on my list as my next purchase but I'm thinking as I currently own a 9MM CZ and want something in .45ACP I'll be looking at the CZ 97B. 10 rounds of .45 in standard magazines is a nice amount of .45 considering with anything but Glock in standard mags I won't get that many rounds.

I want a 1911 but I'm not so much a fan of 7 round single stack mags unless I want the bulk of an extended mag. That is unless there's a gun other than a Glock holding more than 7 rounds of .45 in a 1911 sized pistol I don't know about?

There are a ton of 45 ACP guns what hold more than 7 rounds.   With the right mags, you can put 8 in most 1911s.

There are also a lot of double stack 45's.    Most brands have them.   Ruger, Springfield, Smith & Wesson, CZ(CZ-97), Para...   Just go to gunbroker and start searching for 45 ACP guns with various numbers of capacity.

For fun and low cost all metal 45 ACP, http://www.czfirearms.us/index.php?topic=47715.0

I have one of these.   It's fun.

Welcome from Washington!
The CZ 75 is a fantastic pistol, and well worth owning (though I might be just a teensy bit biased).
Glad to see another geocaching nut on here  :)

Welcome from NJ. Still waiting to pick up my first CZ (P-07 9mm). NJ permit waiting period. I keep hearing the theme music from Jeopardy running through my head. My first and favorite firearm is my Beretta 92fs 9mm. But I have definitely caught the CZitis.
Best way to determine my accuracy is to threaten my family or myself.  Best advice I can give is: DON'T.

I'm fairly confident your P-07 will replace the 92fs as your favorite. I love mine. Two weekends out so far and 300 rounds through it with no issues. Hitting a 10x10" metal plate at 85 yards with three-dot sights. It's a pleasure to shoot.

I got to play with a Beretta the at last month's USPSA match.  I don't think I could get used to the decocker safety.
