one of my 82's has a issue,
« on: May 05, 2015, 02:34:09 PM »
Been awhile since I have been here.
One of my 82's has a issue.  When fired I have to pull the hammer back. It cycles OK but no double action. I have replaced the sear and the spring and a few other parts inside but it still does the same thing . Last time I fired it was about 1.5 years ago. Wish we could short film clips on the site here to show everyone what it is exactly doing.

I have the same problem with my 82 right now.
I need to dig into it and see what is wrong.
I have a CZ and some other guns.
I really want to have more. That's not a bad thing.

Iv'e had a thread going about this "DAO behaviour" in mid-april and not a single reply has come. Mine did it only about half the rounds I shoot. I bought a spring kit for it and am just now about to get it back together so I'll see if it works now. Have you replaced the slide release lever spring? The new one from CZ-USA is shaped like an allen wrench. No hook on the end to grab the pin. I ordered a new one on eBay and one came in the spring kit. Both had about .100 in. too much length. Cut it down and now the length is fine with the hooked onto the trigger guard pin.

No I have not replaced that part. It has been so long since I have worked on it I forget all that was replaced  :). Is it number 42 on the breakdown list. Anyway let us know if this works
I could be wrong but I doubt if that would be it. You can dry fire the gun without racking the slide. When you pull the trigger back slowly the hammer comes back but does not stay.   will seem to slip and then you here a click like it doesn't  catch right. It works fine if you pull the hammer back to cock it for a single shot. Just not pulling the trigger. The hammer starts to come back but slips or does not catch at

After doing a little looking I think my problem may be the trigger bar disonnector. It is item #24 in the CZ83 manual exploded parts diagram. Mine does not look like the one in the diagram at all.
I will let you know as the situation develops.

Here is the Trigger Bar Disconnector page http://shop.cz-usa.com/SearchByKeyword?word=033009700.  The different choices are probably because different sized parts are need for each individual pistol.

I hope you can get it running right again - good luck !

The trigger disconnector is your issue. I had the same problem some years ago and it was an easy drop in fix (need to replace the rivet as well I used a flared punch to flare the new rivet). I checked my email and here is what the CZ Gunsmith's reply was.

You?d have to pull yours out and look at the # stamped on it. To go on the safe side you could put a #1 in the gun and try that, and as you said it?s a good idea to replace the rivet while you?re in there. You can buy everything on our webstore: shop.cz-usa.com

$8.00 for the trigger bar dissconnector and the pin...$7.83 to ship.
$16.00 to fix it all up is not too shabby I guess.

One of my CZ83's had this issue but doesn't anymore. I bought a spring kit off eBay and replaced the hammer and firing pin spring, also the slide latch spring but it needed a little modification to fit right. I had the sear spring installed wrong. One end was sticking out of the hole above the spring. Now it's in the correct place. I'm guessing because I made several changes at one time, but I think my problem was the sear spring.
