CZ Compact Question (s)
« on: May 22, 2015, 09:40:58 PM »
A range guy with a an all steel 9mm CZ Compact wants to make some trigger improvements with his pistol,  and I'm not sure of the "Stock" Hammer and Recoil spring weights.
Does it use the same hammer springs as the full size 75B?  What about the recoil spring weight?

Thanks guys.

I believe that the stock compact recoil springs are 18# but i am not 100% sure. I am less clear on the hammer springs.
Will work for CZ pics! (including but not limited to all CZ clones)

Thanks anyway TOK.  I tried to find the weights at CZC, but no joy.
I got the impression at CZC that the hammer springs were the same as the B,  but not sure. :-\

I was thinking that as well but the compact hammer springs are shorter than a full size, maybe they are beefier to make up for the length.

Scratch that. I took a look at my stock PCR hammer spring next to the stock hammer spring from my 85 Combat. At least from a visual inspection they look identical, same length, coil size and wire size. I am still pretty sure that the compacts hammer struts are shorter though.

My 75BD, PCR, and P-01s have the same hammer spring sizes. It is the lanyard loop or Main spring plug that are different sizes.

mainsprings are the same. fullsize or compact.

generally - mainspring weights are around 20# recoil spring weights are somewhere in the 15#-16# range.

Thanks Joe.  That explains why they both take the same length and stock weight springs.
The guy at the range was wowed by my full size's pull,  so I suggested some of the steps to to clean up the camming and reduce the pull.
Just wanted to be sure the spring weights I suggest will do the job.
