P-07 vs P-01
« on: July 06, 2015, 10:30:54 AM »
I know this topic has been discussed before. Much of the previous discussions have centered around steel vs polymer and personal feel. I am more interested in accuracy and recoil.  For you who own both, what are your thoughts?

I have had both at the same time, in 9mm. Recoil seems marginally less in the p07, perhaps due to the poly frame soaking up some. P07 was evidently more accurate in my hands, and actually perhaps due to a better barrel lock up, mechanically more accurate too. P01 was pretty accurate too, I am just giving comparative info. I would pick a p07 over a p01 any day.

I have both also and have shot both in IDPA matches.

The P-01 (actually a P-02) is a great little pistol and very accurate. However I find the P-07 much easier to shoot faster and more accurately. I am not 100% sure of why but I believe the gun fits my hand better and the polymer does seem to soak up the recoil.

I am shooting my P-07 better after a few months than even my tricked out SP-01.

Frank, what mods have you done to your P-07? Thanks.

Had both and the P-07 was more accurate but just slightly. However, even with G10 thin grip panels on my P-01 the P-07 was still more comfortable in my hand (small hands lol).

I have both of them too.  I carry them both and shoot them in matches as well.  The P07 is easier to control and I tend to shoot it a bit more accurately than the my P01, but I've got better sights on it too.  I actually carry the P01 more because it is thinner than the P07 and that makes it easier to conceal as well as more comfortable to carry IWB.  I'll usually carry the P07 when the weather cools off and I'm wearing a jacket or sweatshirt.
I like having both of them and not having to choose one over the other.

I dunno..own both and like em but pick up the 07 far more often....now if you want a review on the rami im out..that gun and me have no shared luv..ive tried to luv it...personally to me its like herpes and the only reason to want the outbreak is to get another script for the penicillion...either 07 or 01 be a fine choice..cant go wrong with either

I've had the P-07, P-01, and RAMI.
Between the P-07 and P-01, I prefer the P-01; I like the balance better, it's more even. The P-07 was top heavy to me with most of the weight in the slide. The P-01 feels more balanced in my hands. As previously mentioned the P-01 is a little slimmer than the P-07 so it's easier to EDC.

The RAMI is a finger shorter in grip and barrel length. You can tuck your pinky or get the Pierce extension (or use a 14rd mag).
I carry the P-01 as my EDC, because I would rather have the 14rds and slightly longer barrel; with the right holster and belt it's pretty easy to conceal.
