Grips for CZ 97B
« on: July 25, 2015, 02:40:05 AM »
I read somewhere that you can get a stock rubber grip from a CZ 75 SP-01 to fit onto a CZ 97B.  Has anyone done this and can confirm if this is possible?  I really like the grip on the SP-01 and want it for my 97B as well as my future 75 Tactical Sport.  I know it will fit the TS but need to trim off a little towards the maxwell.  Saw a YouTube on that one.

There are rubber grip for the 97B. Try CZ-USA & see if they have any in stock.

I have recently ordered the rubber grips specific to the 97 from the CZ-USA web store.  You also need a couple grip screws if you are replacing the thin aluminum grips.  They definitely help with the ergonomics if you have larger hands.

I didn't buy the factory rubber grips specifically made for the 97B.  Those look slightly different from the ones on the SP-01.   I did buy a set from an SP-01 and I will try and see if I can put them onto my 97B when I get that gun towards the end of August.

Check the serial number on your 97 so that you can determine the MFR date. CZ didn't start adding the thin aluminum grips from the factory until sometime in 2013.

I thought I read in the forums here that some 97s were sold with the wood grips because that is the specific configuration that is/was on the CA approved list (even changing from smooth wood grips to checkered wood grips would require re-certification).

It would appear that the CA DOJ RHCS is possibly the reason for the wooden grips on your 97B.
The SKU for the 2015 CZ 97B is listed as 01411. The Roster lists the CZ 97B SKU as 01401. The 01401 SKU may have been supplied with wooden grips as a factory production spec.

I slid in just ahead of the closing of the SSE provision with the purchase of a 97BD in Dec 2014. I'm looking to try and find paperwork with the SKU number as my 97BD came with Alum grips.
