Most reliable clone subcompact?
« on: April 15, 2016, 07:51:27 AM »
I searched the forum and didn't really find a thread, so I thought I would start a new one.

What's the hive-mind thought on which is the most reliable clone subcompact with a 10-13rd magazine capacity?

SAR B6P Compact  13rd
Sphynx Subcompact 13rd
EAA Witness P Compact (rail) 12rd
EAA Witness Pavona 12rd
Others??

You already have the choice on the top of your list, the Sar B6P compact is an outstanding shooter , reliable ,{I have put 5 K  plus trouble free rounds thru one} and you get great value at rock bottom pricing. Next if you are ever involved in an incident where you use a firearm you won't get upset{ when it becomes evidence} just get out your second one and carry that. Seriously you can get two of these pistols for $600.00.

I have a SAR B6P compact, as well.  I have not had it long enough to shoot it very much.  Maybe I have shot 200 through it, and have not had any issues, whatsoever.  Great pistol, feels great, shoots great.  Best money I've spent lately.

My Series 88 TA90 Compact has been very very reliable and deadly accurate through the years running thru more than a few IDPA and Concealed Carry Matches.
Currentlly, it's use has been curtailed by quite a few other handguns, such as my Tanfoglio/RIA MAP1 Mid-size, and it's in honored semi-retirement in my vault.

Compact Series 88 Tanfoglio TA90 9mm - Magazine Capacity 13 rounds.
Very Accurate and Reliable. Has NEVER misfed on any ammunition.
Will also use Compact small frame 13 round Witness Magazines.

Nice! Never seen that one. Is it alloy or steel frame?

Thankyou!  :)  ALL Steel Construction. Purchased new in 1989. I traded a Side by Side Shotgun in for it, to help pay for it.
I got the better of the deal even though I tossed in some cash along with it.
That Shotgun had been driving me nuts needing Firing Pin Springs every other season.  ::)

Makes me want to get a C100 and have a gunsmith grip chop it down to the same length.

You know, I should have put the Israeli Jericho 941 FBL (13rd subcompact) on the list, but I forgot about it since I don't think it is sold in the US.

I've only ever heard good things about the Jericho line.

I can't compete with some of the posts above when it comes to price.  But if you have a little extra money lying around, and want a sweet shooter thats almost a work of art, the Sphinx SDP Subcompact should be your choice!  Shortly after I got it, I sent it to Automatic Accuracy to have the trigger smoothed.  I have put about 1000 rounds through it since then and it has been a joy to shoot. The Sphinx workmanship is outstanding

The TFB video had malfunctions galore on the sphinx. Did they just get a lemon?
