Cz 527 7.62X39, scope rings / cheek weld
« on: April 27, 2016, 09:10:59 AM »
Hey got one of these guns the other day,  shoots great.  Didn't realize there's so much issues with scopes and bolt clearances.

What I'm specifically looking for is what rings and scopes fit this rifle and obtain a good cheek weld.  Without a comb riser or modified bolt.

I would like a 3-9 power but I think I'm dreaming,  doubt it will clear the bolt with medium rings.

I have seen this set up,  Warne quick detach medum height cz rings. And a Leopold vx3, 1.5-5 power,  30mm. Looks good except the price. And not sure how good the cheek weld is...

Let me know what you got.  Will be used for plinking,  hunting.  Sub 150 yards.

I have the permanent warne rings, and the newer style bolt handle. I have a leupold 2.5x8x36 mounted with no issues with clearance. This is the only nice scope i have so it gets moved from gun to gun frequently. Great cheek weld......no, but i dont know if its possible with this rifle. I like the rifle alot so I deal with it. I am not a sharp shooter, so if there is any problem with accuracy do to the cheek weld, I am not going to sweat it. I generally hit what i am aiming at ;D

I just use factory rings and a Weaver K4 Classic fixed 4 power. I use my carbine for hogs and the occasional deer. The only range time it sees is when I'm working up a new batch of hand loads. 90% of my shots are offhand at moving/feeding pigs.

I have a leupold 3-9x40 on mine with warne medium rings. Works great for me. Anything higher and it would be uncomfortable on the cheek/jaw. The main problem is the bold clearance and the classic style leupold's have a smaller ocular bell. Then you just have to decide if you want to keep your rear iron sight. Mine fits behind my rear sight with only enough clearance to fit a rubber bikini style scope cover. Which is what came with the leupold. Good luck, and congrats on a great rifle!

Sleeper99 that's the kinda info I'm after.  Which model scope and specifically which rings?   I shot with the high rings and a cheap Bushnell 3-9x40 and now I'm not sure about a 2-7 power.  Lol this is at 50. Might try whatever rings your running with the Bushnell for now till funds clear up

I don't have a picture, but I'll get you some tomorrow of everything, rings scope and rifle. For now a few targets. My "sighting in" target and a 5 round group shot at 100 yrds. With 123grn Tula steel cases ammo.

Here are pictures and info on my setup. I haven't owned it long, but so far I love it. CZ 527 Carbine in 7.62x39.

I use a CenterPoint 2-7x32mm mounted with Warne 16mm dovetail rings (high) on my .223 CZ 527 Carbine. I went with Warne rings because I didn't like the possibility of scratching the rifle with a flat blade screw driver if I used the CZ-supplied rings.

Two 3 shot groups fired off hand from 50 yards (dime for size reference).

Had a Bushnell 3-9 x40 laying around and the got those Warne medium rings. Works well.  Hand clearance is a little tight but it clears the bell.  And I don't catch the rear irons at all in my view.  Here's some clearance shots.
