CZ52 magazines
« on: May 16, 2016, 10:37:52 AM »
I was going through my browser favorites to organize, rename and verify them and decided to visit www.SGAmmo.com.
Besides being a source for European ammunition, they happen to also sell magazines.

As of today they have EIGHTY-ONE (81) CZ52 mags in stock--most in what appear to be factory condition.

I did a search of the Forum and the only posts with SGAmmo in them were people looking for 9x18mm Makarov for the CZ82.

Thanks for that post.  The now have 71 in stock, as I bought 10.  Shipped in oil.  Better quality than the originals and any others I've seen.

My CZ52 came with only one mag. The two extras that I bought work like champs. They came completely covered in Cosmoline.

Wow, were you right.  Will have to discuss this with them. <10% feed. None hold the slide back after the last round

That sounds like the "CZ MFG" magazine I bought for my vz52. It fed fine, but could only lock the slide open if I pushed mag floorplate up. May work fine if I can find a stronger magazine spring.
I don't look like my avatar!

Did some research.  Did some very minor modifications. Working better.. All mags feed perfectly. Almost all lock back on the last round. None stay locked back when removing the magazine, but I think I can figure that out.
Anyway, I think these mags will be fine.  And if they're not perfect, they'll be good enough.

Midway has CZ-52 Mags on sale as of 5/29/16.  $20. Ad calls them surplus, like new, but I haven't seen or used them, so I cannot vouch for their authenticity.

Plinkasaurusrex -

Good to hear that they worked out acceptably well.  Can you share some details, either on the "very minor modifications" and/or a link to the results of your "research"?

Thanks!

Yeah!  Got my "genuine" CZ52 mags from Aim Surplus.  The floor plates were made from aluminum beer cans I would guess.  ;)
The original mags that came with the pistol were pretty beat up so finding the real new ones from SGAmmo was great.
