Aimpoint
« on: July 27, 2016, 12:24:38 AM »
Really liking the micro aimpoint but price is steep.
How would the PRO look on a EVO.
Being a Sub Gun I want everything to match.
Is the pro made in Sweden also?
I don't mind waiting for a good sale to get either one.
Keeping it on 24/7 is important and both have great battery life

I had a Pro on mine for a minute, but felt and looked (to me) top heavy.  I moved it to the Tavor and grabbed a Trijicon MRO.  I like it much better for the platform.  Nothing wrong at all with the Pro, but for me, I just like the MRO better on the Evo.

And now for the obligatory pic of said Evo with said MRO.

Is there co-witness with the MRO?

I love mine. If you purchase the aimpoint mount the lens cover touches the rail. It's as low as it can possible go.

It's actually not bad looking. I'm going to spend $ on this sbr so I would want real deal accessories on it. I have a ar that is for messing around with that i put a vortex entry level.  But i know the aimpoint products are tanks. Overpriced but still tanks

I submitted my sbr form and still waiting. I'm in the same boat as you. If I'm going to make it an sbr I'm going to have it forever, might as well get an optic I'll have forever too.

I am at a point in my life where I am not price sensitive when it come to something that I want, but when I was looking around for another 9mm carbine and compared the Evo with the MPX, I would have gone with the Scorpion even at the same price point.  I just think that it is a better firearm.

I mounted a PRO on the Scorpion briefly, it looked and felt huge.  I just ordered a MRO with the low mount.  I have the MRO on my Sig 556xi Russian SBR and like it better than an Aimpoint Micro on a gun with a right side mounted charging handle (I am lefty) as I may run my knuckles across the Micro battery compartment when charging.  I run Aimpoint Micros on most everything else.

AIM Surplus had the MRO with low mount on sale for $399 shipped this weekend, but they sold out in a few hours.  Grabagun has them for $426 plus shipping using their grab a quote pricing.  Might as well spend $50 more and get what you really want.
