Seems like there's a CZ shortage
« on: August 17, 2016, 08:07:49 PM »
Been out on Slickguns looking at CZ P-01 Omega and everyone is out of stock, a co-worker of mine is looking for CZ 75 Compact, no one has any in stock.   CZ P-09's are plentiful, just about everything else is out of stock.  Has anyone else noticed a shortage on new CZ pistols.

Those who carry more than a few may be hogging them.

Sparks Firearms (Universal City, Texas) has had as many as 16 at the Saxet Gun Show in San Antonio.

In Houston, Texas Lone Star Defense and Arms seem to have the most new CZs.

If you're looking for collectibles, try Collector's Firearms (Houston, Texas)

Most everyone else in this part of the country, if they have them at all, just have the main models (P-09, 75B, RAMI).

CZ 24, CZ 27, CZ 38, CZ 45, CZ 52, Vzor 70, CZ75BΩ, CZ75D PCR Compact, CZ 75 P07 Duty, CZ75 SP-01 Phantom, CZ P09 DUTY, P10C, CZ 82, CZ 83, CZ 97BE, CZ 452 American. CZ 550 UCS (Urban Counter Sniper), CZ 805 Bren, DUO  & Z

It's not unusual.  CZ-UB makes enough different models that they don't keep all of them in production continuously.  75B Compacts are not made every year, just for example.  This is why you will never find a nickel 75B Compact with certain date codes.  They weren't manufactured in those years.

About twelve years ago, the only handgun in continuous production was the CZ 75B in polycoat.  They've only added models since then.

I don't know if it's a conscious decision on their part but, it seems like CZ would rather preserve its reputation for quality and dependability than go after market share.

Wow, 75Bs were like 500+ when I was looking. Which is why I decided to just cough up a bit more to get a CZ85C.

Got my P-01 Omega a few months ago but I had to wait and wait. One popped up in Washington state at AnaCortes and I jumped on it. They got three and I got the last.

Love this pistol.

Happens in cycles........I've noticed it with other manufacturers too its not just a CZ thing, certain models are gone everywhere then all of a sudden they are everywhere for a while......and the cycle repeats.... :-\

I believe it happens in cycles also, at least for your medal framed ones. I've always been able to find P09s and 07s.

Would you believe there's low inventory even in the home market? The P-01 Omega has been out-of-stock at the main CZUB store for a few months now.
