New x95 Tavor
« on: December 01, 2016, 12:14:36 AM »
I'm really happy with my new Tavor. Took it to the range today. It shot pretty good, 2 inch groups at 100 yds with IMI green tips. One inch or less with 65gr sierr reloads. Was using 6.5x20 Nikon Monarch.

Glad to hear you like it.
Financial pressures kept me from buying a Tavor. Now, between the two, I think I'd prefer the X-95.
Thanks for the post.

Nice rifle and good shooting. I'm an aug guy, but definitely have my eye on one of those x95's.

I defnitely would like to compare the X95 with the Tavor.  I know I really like my Tavor and have been a fan of bullpup weight distribution since I attached to the British Army in the early 1990s and used an L85 (SA80).

I have handled and shot an AUG before. I really like the feel of a bullpup rifle, and I really like the X95's feel.

Nice!  I'm a big bullpup fan, and have had my eye on a Tavor for a while.  Now I'm glad I held off!   :)

Here's a video that includes a comparison between the original Tavor and the X95:  http://gun-videos.net/2016/04/iwi-tavor-x95-vs-tavor-sar/

How is the trigger? I've never really warmed to bullpups because every one I've handled (a rather limited sample size, I admit) have had horrendous triggers.

The trigger pull is right at 6 lbs.

Just love mine.  Trigger pull is crisp and a whole lot lighter then the original Tavor.  In addition, I really like that they moved the magazine release forward of the trigger making it similar to the AR.  I had the Tavor, could never get use to the magazine release in the rear and the trigger pull unless you purchase a aftermarket trigger pack was just plain terrible.

OP, these groupings are hard to believe, since every review on the X95 tested showed 3.5-5+" at 100 yards, which is why I never bought one!

I use a 6.5x24 Nikon and my  own hand loads. Getting use to a bullpup on rest and bags takes a little while. Kind of like shooting a thumb hole rifle.  Some of my groups are under one inch, when I focus really hard.

Nice. Took me an extra 270$ to get the Geiselle trigger (which was absolutely worth it) on my Tavor. Congrats. You got a great weapon there.
