The V2.0 prototypes came in.  They need a few more tweaks, but otherwise the mags lock up snug and the rounds feed well & eject strong.

As I expected, the Uzi Pro mag is much better. When a surplus Uzi mag is set at the corrrct hight to feed the rounds, the follower is so high when empty, the bolt gets hung up on it.  Also the feed angle is such that the rounds just don't feed very well.

I hope to test fire it this week.  Fingers crossed.

Oh, and I bought a 3D Printer.

Awesome.  Wish I knew how to work a 3d printer.

Do you think there will be any difference *functionally between the 20, 25, or 32 round uzi pro mags?

No idea.

I also heard that there's going to be a SHOT show release of metal Scorpion mags so this may all be for naught.

Rumors kill

Very nice job. I like it when fireams spawn innovation

Oh, and I bought a 3D Printer.

WHich one did you get? and as for 3d materials there are many different ones with different characteristics. Any Chance of getting the .stl file as I have a couple of Ideas on Materials and methods. But dont want to waste your materials an time proving them wrong. Of course I would share success and/or failure with you. This would save me the 3d mapping and early legwork to catch up so i could help.

Let me know as there are other scorpion things you can make as well.

Basically it's a kit that my daughters and I can assemble and learn from. Nothing special, but enough to do prototyping and small production runs.

I agree on the materials. There's a lot of stuff that can effect these prints.

Probably the same one I have. See if you can get the .stl  file I would like to print a few with different materials and try to anneal.

Thanks

In my very best Darth Vader impression:

Impressive.

Most Impressive.

That was the newer imported "uzi pro" mag correct?

Yes, but I also ran an IMI surplus mag and it ran great as well :)

I'm still fine-tuning the adaptor, but it's very close.  It's just slow-going until my printer gets here.

hmm, i never even thought about the follower. that would suck if the bolt never locked back on the last round

The bolt will not hold open as the follower will not fit inside the uzi mag with it still there.

This. There is no last round bolt hold open with the Uzi mags.

This may not be needed. It's just in case the feed angle was too steep in the Uzi mag. So far, it looks like it won't be needed.
