Looks like both the CZ 85B and CZ 85 Combat have officially been discontinued as of the end of 2016, per CZ-USA's website.
I am glad I got my 85 Combats while they were available, but this is especially disappointing because that was the only way to get a brand-new gun without a FPB, without buying a Shadow series. The 85C is a great gun to use as a base for a build for that reason.
Luckily most parts are interchangeable with a standard 75, but I am concerned about the long-term availability of slide stops. I will probably pick a few up on my next parts order.
I am guessing this is part of CZ's long-term plan to phase out the standard firing control group among non-Shadow guns, and make the Omega trigger system the norm. The new 75B Omega that has been released has ambi-controls for left-handed shooters, which I suspect is the "replacement" model for the 85 series guns.
