I wonder if my original AR15A2 HBAR is considered "Retro", even though I've changed out a few things like the Pistol Grip and Muzzle Brake.
I can still put the originals back on.

AR15A2 HBAR built on PAC West Lower with 2x Scope and Enterprise Arms Muzzle Brake. Bolt has 3 layer Gas Continuous Gas Ring.

At my age, I'm probably considered "Retro".  ::)

The "twenty" round issued mag is a nice touch! I still have a few and use them regularly.

I built this one up from a stripped Colts lower (one of their competition lowers).

It's not period perfect and doesn't have one of the 1:14 or 1:12 twist barrels.

I wanted a 1:7 chrome lined FN barrel and it has a flat top upper with a detachable carryhandle because there's no reason to go all the way backwards.

It does have a teardrop forward assist, 3 prong flash hider, A2 stock, old style bayonet, Colt bolt group, tubbs flat coil chrome silicone buffer spring and set of old handguards.

I really enjoy shooting it.  It's one of the nicest shooting AR's that I have, and there are many.

That is beautiful! Was watching "Tour of Duty" last night (the first of 11 discs!) and seeing them use stock m16's and (in one episode at least) the XM177 or the GAU version just made me smile.

Here's mine, and not quite retro, but close.

I call it FUR,  and it shoots very nicely.

Is that a detachable rear sight half way up the upper receiver rail?

Just popped it on as he didnt like the red dot that was on it.

We need some more pictures taken with the "twenty" round mag. We never did put 20 rounds into these.  It seemed that about 18 worked the best which resulted in two being left over from a 20 round issued carton.

Got hold of a used semi-retro. Put this and that.....
I had an old Bushmaster years ago that looked like this.

My first AR was a Colt SP1 that my dad bought me for my 16th B-day. That will have been 30 years ago on the 28th. I wish I still had it, but it wasn't the best shooter. I sold it and bought the Bushmaster. That gun was a shooter.
I sold it years ago too.............
Never take me serious.
