My first 100yd effort with my P-09
« on: January 23, 2017, 12:43:52 PM »
Ive shot my P-09 at steel silhouette targets out to 175 yds for fun, with decent results, but have never tried to shoot a real group past 50 yds before.  Found myself with a little extra time at the gun club yesterday so thought I would give it a shot.  Pretty pleased with the results especially considering I was using a random handload I had with me that I hadn't tuned for accuracy.  Wasnt sure of holdover so shot two groups, one I put the dot on top of the bullseye, kind of like a snowman effect, didnt have great results but not bad, second group, pictured below, I had the dot on its lowest power setting and tried to center it up inside the bullseye.

This load was a 95 gr JHP over ramshot competition powder.  Fired 9 shots, throw out the one flyer, the rest in about a 4.5 in group.  Not bad.

View from behind.

Close up of what Im looking at.  Actually used one lower brightness setting, and if you are still it fits just in the bullseye.  This is a 3moa Burris FF3 sight.

Nice shooting. The P-09 is surely accurate in the right hands. Thank you for the pic.
Will work for CZ pics! (including but not limited to all CZ clones)

Dave33,

Excellent!!!

Almost exactly the results I have gotten from my own P-09 and FF3, if not a little better.  I stopped at 5 shots most of the time.  I don't have a pistol that is any more repeatable than my P-09.  Still.

That's a good thing!  Then you can try 200!  I've done that a few times as well, always with good results with the P-09.  Always.

Yea, these pistols are crazy accurate. I have shot many, many sub 1" groups at 25 yds from a rest. I have found that lighter Bullets work better than heavy ones though. I've had sub 1" groups with anything from 90gr to 125gr, above that and groups open up. Nothing terrible, around 3" groups is about the best I've done with 147gr rounds.

Excellent shooting Sir!
It takes a good shooter to fully utilize the potential of the pistol too.
Life is too short to waste on a bad trigger pull
